My 12" PowerBook G4 1.33 got dropped. Luckily, besides some cosmetic damage, only the modem is giving me problems. It only works if the modem cable is positioned exactly right, which is pretty annoying. So I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use the Apple USB Modem on PowerPC Macs. I saw on MacinTouch that you could, but Apple's Store says it requires a Mac without a built-in modem so I thought I should check here before I buy one.

Is there anyone you know who has one? You could try it out.

Also, I'm not sure if your using dial-up or cable, but the Apple USB Modem will not work with ethernet (i.e. Cable modems, or LAN) but will work with dial-up (standard telephone plug)

I'm using dial-up. I don't know anyone else who has the modem so I can't try it out.
