and gather that much more data on you to sale to others. dont worry about meta. worry about the people that think this is a good thing and that they are getting a bargain.

It is true that at a certain time, it was necessary to have a Facebook account but this is no longer necessary today. If you had to have a mandatory account, I wouldn't buy the Quest 3 (which is an excellent headset), it's a very good deal, the headset is technologically very good and for gaming it's great. The most important thing is that there is something for everyone and there is choice in the VR market. I bought it and I am very happy with my purchase ☺️.

Ps: I translated using Google trad from French to English, I hope it is understandable enough 😅.

What a great example of how to compare two devices that make very different tradeoffs without bile or bias. He just walked through the two solutions and described them and explained them without judgement.

I feel like we need to archive this away like those recordings of ancient languages that only have 4 or 5 native speakers left.

Is the Vision Pro considered successful? Does anyone who bought it find they use it every day and enjoy doing so?

Just curious.
Successful? Hmmm... Apple is selling more of them than anticipated and had to secure additional production.

There are many things the Vision Pro does very well. Its usefulness as a mobile work environment is incredible and will only get better. As a consumer-level gaming and entertainment platform, it misses the mark somewhat and that's where the Meta Quest shines. While these are two very similar products, their target demographics are very different. we see a lot of negative commentary from those with available budget to buy the Vision Pro with the intent to use it as they would the Quest. Likewise if someone bought the Quest to use for the workspace environment features like the virtual desktops, persona interactions and such, hand gesture control... They're going to be disappointed, but not to the same level due to the price differential.

Apple is said to be accelerating the development and launch of the more affordable version of the Vision Pro. And that's what they'll need to appease the masses.

That said, I don't know how well these headsets -- Vision Pro or Meta Quest -- will do long term. They're missing that killer app or one thing that truly justifies their existence. If the gesture control of the Vision Pro can be developed to the point where I can type 75+ WPM with only a virtual space keyboard, or enough accuracy on that virtual keyboard, where I don't have to look at it and can do enough ESC/ tab / F-key and such combinations to effectively navigate coding environments and they can cut the on-head weight by 1/3 or more, they will have a winner for road-warrior tech people.

The virtual eyes on the outside of the device are creepy AF. Like I never imagined Apple would make something that level of creepy.

We have one that we're playing with and exploring app concepts for. At first I didn't know what to do with that, but we have so many app ideas that we don't even know where to begin and are probing clients and letting them try it to see what they'd like us to build. We have a couple games in the pipeline, but they don't seem like they would translate well to the Vision Pro, so not exploring that aspect for now. I'm curious what Apple will be showing us at WWDC.
