Going to purchase (X-Mas Gift) for a family member...X or 8/8+.

I don't fully understand the difference/advantage between purchasing directly from Apple, Verizon or BestBuy.

I want to add the insurance protection (Broken Screen Glass or Whatever) + want the upgrade option as well.

What are the pros & cons of doing it through Apple, Verizon or BestBuy?
