After the free trial week, I couldn't find a reason to subscribe or buy Halide. While I appreciate the possibility of bypassing the "Fusion" postprocessing, I found its results underwhelming. It seems as if its photos need to be edited anyway, manually, with some other software. I'd rather grab my camera then.
 
talking about a relationship gone sour ... and I am sure there is way more to this than what we hear about here.

I was looking forward to the new version of the app, but now its RIP Halide, too bad
 
I'd wondered what happened here, as I was following them all on social media and it all went dark and quiet at one point.

I’m wondering if it’s ethical to employ the co-founder after discussions to acquire the company and its IP. It’s certainly opportunistic. It seems the ceo got rug pulled by both.
 
I'm disappointed to see so many folks advocating for Apple to just "copy everything" from a 3rd party App.

Sherlocking mostly sucks the life out of developer enthusiasm and is toxic for your platform, especially when you've leaned in so heavily on "get 3rd party Apps for everything".

People are just expressing their opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
Same happens in every other thread here on MR ...
