I waited and waited and waited and finally pulled the trigger today. BHPhoto has the 42mm watch on sale for $199-$209 for today and while supplies last. I had $50 BHPhoto rewards dollars so it only cost me $149 woo hoo!!! Here's the link for anyone who might be interested.

So...what are some must have apps, if any?

Cheers!!!

EDIT: To clarify it's the 2015 model. I guess it's referred to as version 1 as opposed to version 0. Is that right?

I also ordered a Black Stainless on sale from
B&H. It was a steal. And B&H is a very reputable company.

I got the Stainless Steel 42MM from BH photo on black friday for 269. No tax since I had it shipped to NJ and free shipping. that was a steal in my opinion. don't really need the GPS, or waterproofing of series 2 and I don't use too many third party apps so the speed shouldnt bother me...... I love the look of the stainless steel over the sport since I like to buy a lot of leather/stainless steel bands.
I'll jjust use this bad boy until the series 3 comes out hopefully with a new design.

I went with the space grey aluminum because to be honest I'm still not sold on the need for a smartwatch. That may change when I start using it but regardless, $149 for one of these is a no brainer purchase for me. Worst case if I don't like it I can easily return it for a refund.

I will admit though that now that I ordered it I'm looking forward to using it. And yeah B&H is awesome. I live in Jersey also and the fact that they don't charge tax and free shipping makes shopping there awesome. Better than Amazon when it comes to tech and photo stuff.

Enjoy your SS Watch!!

$269.00 for the 42 MM Stainless is a good deal. I paid $379.00 for the black stainless. I didn't see the black stainless any less for Black Friday on B&H. And I received my Black Stainless a day earlier. Exceptional service with B&H. I will be back.

I would rather spend the extra $60.00 for a new Watch versus purchasing a refurbished Watch. It seems it would be a safer bet and your receiving a new Watch.
Same thinking here. I found a surprisingly big number of "refurb watches" from 3rd party sellers, but you don't know whether those are just overstocks from Apple or actually opened and cleaned refurbs. The latter would most probably mean a lesser seal quality, so I decided against such deals and went for a new one.

That said - if the Series 0 would be intended only to bridge the gap until Series 3 is released and water-resistance not relevant (e.g. showering, swimming), I'd go for a deal on Series 0 for sure. I'd prefer the aluminum watch, though, as the Sapphire screen on SS Series 0 is definitely worse under bright lighting conditions.

B&H is a great company! Ive bought from them for 30 years. I got my AWS there last March. It was the best price at the time. Also ordering out of state no sales tax.

Speaking of B&H have you ever bought a Mac of any kind and had it shipped to Jersey. I tried twice and both times it said store pickup only. Mind you I've bought thousands of dollars of photographic equipment and I've had an account with them for many years. The only things I can think of are fraud protection and the sales tax thing.

Any ideas?

I call 2015 models First Generations. In 2016 they made 2 models one which is similar to a 2015 model which are referred to as Series 1 & 2.

Unfortunately I've always bought my macs directly from Apple, I usually take a drive down to Delaware so I can pay $0 tax. I would try giving them a call and see if you can place the order over the phone and have it shipped

I believe you can purchase over the phone and shipped.
