Predictions:
Thinner, sapphire on all models, new colours for Sport, new materials for Watch tier
Faster S2 processor
Same 1+ day battery
3D Touch (Force touch discontinued)
New health sensors (blood oxygenation and sugar measurements, EMG for measuring muscle activation*)
Dual lens camera hidden under curved glass. One pointing up for FaceTime, the other pointing forward for photos
WPS (instead of GPS) and open WiFi network. Will only work in select cities, maybe partnered with Starbucks
Open Lightning port for MFi certified 3rd party accessories
New branded bracelet and Watch face partners
A trade in program for Edition models

I think the health sensors are the killer app for the watch and for Apple specifically. They bought quite a few cutting edge sensor companies and hired quite a few experts -- too many to just put a heart rate monitor on the thing. There's a good chance we'll see sensor technology that nobody else has access to.

If they make it thinner, I'd consider getting one. It's WAY too thick and bulky now to wear comfortably.
Are we talking about the same watch? "thick and bulky" is nowhere near the term I would use for the Apple Watch - I just bought the 42mm Space Black SS version and it's gorgeous... Not even as thick and big as some of my other normal watches

I don't mind thinner - at least on the SS models as long as the battery life remains the same.

It would also be nice if it had a projector so I can present my slides on the wall using my watch. GPS is definitely needed. I'd also like 4K video support for watch movies.

What lmao the battery is incredible - the battery doesn't need to be changed
I have NO idea ...no!, you have NO idea what you're talking about. The battery has been GREAT! I tend to charge every night, but if I forget, as I did last night, I can make it through 2 days of usage. Its almost 7PM and I have a little less than 10% available. That'll last me till sleepy-time. ...and its been a BUSY day!

i would love to wear it day and night, for sleep tracking purposes. but as it is, everyone will just charge it every night.

I wear it day and night for sleep tracking and silent alarm. Battery is so good that I charge it when I shower or the hour before I go to sleep. Your information is way off. Takes an hour to charge at most when it is at 40% or more and I end the day with 50-60% now and that is starting at 10pm.

These bad battery comments are ridiculous.

Thinner?
Who needs that?
No, what they need to do is make it bigger. 47-55mm would suit me perfectly.
The two sizes available now is for women and pygmees..
So you are calling every guy here a woman or a pygmee? I'm 6'4 and the watch looks great on my arm. Same size as my Seikos and Tissots. Most likely in your case it is wrist width or wrist fat. Samsung has some really good models for you needing enormous size watches.

Well, you might think it looks great on you, I do not.
My wife sports the larger Apple watch as well, and on her it looks the right size..
My Swiss watches are 44, 47and 50mm, they all fit me, and most others, very well.
If you have not noticed, the watchmakers have offered larger watches for a number of years now, with 44mm being an average sized timepiece these days.

Hopefully the battery is better. But who am i kidding, it's apple...

But i'll most likely buy one next year.

What do you mean? The battery is fantastic. I can easily get 2 days with moderate use. Which is perfect for me. I don't understand the people that don't buy devices because they are always chasing better battery life...Better, longer lasting batteries would be great, but I'm not gonna pass on the AW because I want to wait for all week battery life. Just crazy. Every night before I go to bed I take off my watch, take my phone out of my pocket and I plug them in. Then in the morning they are all at 100% and ready to go. I don't even think about my battery. It's really a non issue.

Whilst I would love Apple to stagger their releases throughout the year, I think this will certainly need to shift to the 'holiday' buying season more so that any other product in Apple's lineup. It's much more suited as a 'gifted' product since it's not tied down to buying a contract like a phone, and won't replace many people's existing arm based tech (yet) and it's a watch, watches make good gifts.

If you look at Apple's previous introductions to new consumer categories (phones, tablets) they have been introduced in summer and spring - presumably to build momentum before holiday sales. I wish they would shift at least one of these product lines away from their autumn product splurge though, since they'll end up cannibalizing their own sales - who wants to buy an iPhone, Watch and iPad if they're all going to be coming out of your October salary!

You're forgetting about May graduations and June weddings/anniversaries. Watches are one of the most popular gifts given in both of those occasions. In fact I would bet that graduation watches probably account for more sales than Christmas holiday gifts. April is the perfect month to release a watch from that viewpoint. Let them introduce new bands and case finishes for the holidays to boost renewed interest, but keep the leading edge where it will arguably make the most impact.

My Apple Watch battery life has been impressive. Seldom have I seen less than a 50% charge after a 16 hour day and once when I was chasing a schedule I was up again after 3 hours and the watch was fully charged. However, I recognize for some it poses an issue that when they want to go camping in the wilderness, away from the grid, for a week or two, getting away from it all, but they have to have their Apple Watch with them, it will not hold a charge.

Yeah, Apple has let you folks down. Big time.

It's the same thing with those who want all the functionality of their phone built into their watch yesterday. With a 1 week battery life. Let's not forget the projector to show slides on the wall (seriously, that was posted).

Hey, not saying it won't be possible one day for all these wishes to come true but for now I am going to let my aging mind be blown away by the Apple Watch I have today. It is phenomenal and I use it far more than I ever imagined.

and AT&T has wi-fi calling now and it really helps me where I live.

Except it's not generally available. A few select people were able to get access to it during the beta... but that is closed now and they aren't allowing more access to it until the FCC rules on how they've implemented TTY.
