Without an Apple Watch 2 there will be NO March/April event!

What are they gonna introduce? An new 4" iPhone with outdated internals (rumors say A8), and a "catch up" iPad Air 3. Even if they have incredible MacBook Pro updates it won't save the event.
Actually, the rumors say A9.

I hope so, but even then it's mid cycle. Also, I doubt neither the iPhone 6c or the iPad 3 will have any new features existing products like the iPad Pro or iPhone 6S don't have.

So, an event still seems unlikely to me without a new Apple Watch.

I really saddens me that Apple thinks someone would buy a new watch every year. They've updated the Thunderbolt display with variants without calling it Thunderbolt display 2, 3, 4, etc. Why can't they do the same for the Apple Watch.
Nope, they are trying to get the people who didn't buy the first generation. But personally, I won't release a second version just yet. People just got theirs during christmas. I would release it during summer.

I enjoy my Apple Watch, I just wish it was faster when accessing the apps.
They really need to do something about this. They can sacrifice battery life if need be. I can go a day and a half already on a charge. There's got to be something that could be done in software because the apps basically become useless.

Many people have reported that the S1 chip is under-clocked in an effort to extend battery life. I'd be interested to see how fast the Watch would be at full speed, but obviously that would burn through battery.

Not really sure what else they would show. iPad Air 3 with Pencil support? You don't really need an event for that. Updated MacPro with all USB-C connectors with HDMI 2.0 , Thunderbolt 3 , 10-gigabit ethernet and faster chips? Again, not sure they would need an event for something like that. Scraping iTunes altogether and unveiling and brand new, from the ground up system for organizing your media that makes sense and a SEPARATE IMPROVED store broken out so that you'll have separate purchasing and streaming so as not to confuse the **** out of people like it is now? OK, maybe that would be a nice thing to unveil at a event. ;)

Said the day it came out that it wont be a yearly refresh model and neither do I think the iPad Air (which isn't now anyway) nor the iPad Pro will be. The only thing that will stay religiously yearly is the iPhone.

Please make turning on not last over 1 minute
Have apps "just work" rather than have a thinking spin wheel
3rd party watch faces
Independent of iPhone
GPS
- 1st gen "beta" / " Guinea pig" steel Watch user

Id sacrifice built in GPS (which will just murder the battery) for iBeacon tracking (my number 1 request over everything), sleep tracking and faster siri. I'm also not bothered about boot time seen as its only even been rebooted once in a year for an update.

Good. Hate the darn thing. ;)

You hate a piece of technology you don't own? What a strange thing to worry about.

I don't see the point in buying another Apple Watch unless it is untethered from my iPhone. For me , Apple Watch 2 would have to have a lte chip making it capable of being a stand alone device. I don't want to have to constantly carry my iphone around any more. A better tethered device is a waste of time.

I'm pretty sure the Apple Watch 2 will be announced in March. However, it may not actually be available until April. Despite the Apple Watch 1 OK sales, it hasn't sold as well as it should for an Apple product, especially one that is a perfect companion to one of the best selling phones in the world. Every iPhone owner is a potential Apple Watch sale but Apple has been unable to capture the hearts of a large majority of iPhone owners. Releasing a new model will inject interest in the Apple Watch product line and hopefully sway more iPhone owners to buy an Apple Watch.

I don't think the Apple Watch 2 will be a major update though. The Apple Watch 1, despite being a get 1 product, is actually a very good product. The Apple Watch 2 will most likely be "evolutionary" rather than "revolutionary" sort of like the S model iPhones that come every other year. The most I expect is a slightly thinner case, better battery, faster UI performance, a few more health features (possible more sensors as well) and the ability to function better when not paired to an iPhone.

Also, as I've already said in another forum on here, Apple's product lineup has grown over the past year so it makes sense for them to keep the same schedule they had last year (both for profit and to prevent consumer confusion):

March: Reserved for Apple Watch and Macbook lineup

June: Reserved for showing OS updates and new features (this year should be quite large with iOS 10, Watch OS 3, Apple TV OS and the follow up to El Capitan)

September: Reserved for iPhone and iPad

October / November: Reserved for new desktop Macs (either a stealth launch or a small event)

This was the first product I early adopted. I've never felt this feeling of hoping the newest doesn't come out ASAP.

On another note. I ****ing love night shift mode. Sorry f.lux :(

The Apple watch is a pretty lethargic piece of technology. It's bulky, doesn't have a 24x7 display, and it's got a day charge long if you're lucky. In summary it's got three fundamental problems before it becomes anything more than a toy.
It's not that much bulkier than a normal, sturdy watch. Somewhat larger, but not at all an inconvenience ora nuisance. I love the display. And I, plus many others, see a day and a half or more of battery life, and that's with not light usage by any means.
