I have AW3 paired with Wahoo Tickr chest strap. The metrics on the AW will not show live data....except the heart rate. Weird!
Doesn’t matter if I’m using gps or not or which workout. Data starts to update every 2-3 minutes. I’m hoping it’s a bad chest strap monitor.
Anyone else?

Not trying to tell you not to use a strap but I did a lot of testing on the HR accuracy by using my Garmin strap on long bike rides, every time I compared it to my watch it was so close it didn’t matter. I check it regularly against the gym equipment read outs and it’s always real close so I tossed the strap. On long hard runs the strap would end up dropping down to my stomach anyways.

For me cycling and running very accurate with AW only. Strength training and tennis not even close. This is where the external monitor is needed.
I tried a 2nd Wahoo strap.....same result. Apple will call back Friday. I have already done a reset, unpaired and repaired setup with backup and as new. Nothing has worked.

I had a Wahoo TICKR and I found it generally worked well, but it would occasionally freeze up like you mentioned and the reading never seemed to update. I think sometimes this was due to the strap not being wet enough. Make sure you really get it wet to help it out. But even with that, it still seemed to occasionally have issues and eventually stopped working. They sent me a free replacement, though.

I also went and bought a Polar H10 strap. It is WAY more comfortable and stays in place better than the TICKR, plus I have had zero issues with HR reading so far.

I did another unpair and setup with new.
All seems to be working now. I did a few minutes on elliptical with and without strap and made sure to notice when data was updating.
I never messed with the “reset fitness calibration data.”
I wonder if that could be a shortcut for a fix?
You are right Brad, the strap must be wet to work. Fortunately getting sweaty for me keeps it operational.
