Hello, I ordered two "open box" series 3 space grey aluminum GPS 42mm watches from bestbuy. I ordered two so I can inspect them and return the one that is more used. ANyway, when I got them, one rectangle box is thick, and one rectangle box is thin. The thin box has no charger, and the cable is stored into the info packet section. I searched but cannot find any mention of apple changing the packaging for series 3. I can't tell if one is an apple refurb or wtf.

Anybody able to help me out? thanks.

For Series 3 only the Cellular model included the 5W USB Power Adapter.

True. It’s still on Apple’s website if you care to look.
Not true. Look at the pic I posted. Both are the same watch. GPS only.

When the Series 4 came out the Series 3 was repacked to be sold like the old Series 1. The smaller box the Series 1 came in never came with the USB Power Adapter.

Thanks. This is what I assumed but could not find any info.

Yes. I now see that changed with the introduction of Series 4 as mentioned above.
I guess the takeaway is that the Watch in the thinner box without the USB adapter is newer than the one in the larger box.
