Apple Watch 5G?

Probably never. LTE is enough of a battery drain as is it, I can’t begin to imagine 5G. Not to mention the primary point of cellular connectivity on the watch is for voice calls so who cares about ultra fast data transfer rates.
I kind of just figured that since 5G is being rolled out eventually any cellular device without it will be considered obsolete.

1st question: No. There’s zero reason to. It’s an accessory to the iPhone, data is minimally used as is.
2nd question: Its very obvious, no one here has any idea. The expansion of the 5G rollout will be limited for various geographic areas and the adoption rate will be slow.
No rush, wait for 5G technology to mature and fit into a watch power envelope. 4G and 5G can share spectrum. So operators doesn't have to close down 4G in order to roll out 5G.
Apple Watch doesn't support 5GHz WiFi either.
(Honestly I don't even feel I need 5G for my phone and that is not the reason I am holding out my phone upgrade)

I do want my watch..
..to tell my car to lock the door as soon as my left arm is a centimeter past the doorframe;
I do want my watch..
..to tell my car immediately in case of a stroke, that we have to activate onboard sirens, engage auto-pilot without driver involvement (regardless of regulatory constraints), driving to the closest emergency room, whilst my watch does the emergency call and sends live data to those, that will at my arrival be informed, prepared and ready to act under ideal conditions - to the best of their abilities;

..does try to protect & preserve my ability to hear,
But;
what IF..
..it would just use that ability to intelligently adapt the volume of my speakers (or AirPods; regardless when and where) s.t.
- walking by a construction site, I'll still be able to understand the podcast I'm listening to
- taking a shower, my watch senses the need to adapt the volume then when I do
