Oh you done F$&k up that watch is shot . I hope you got apple care

Two days ago I was wearing my less than 5 months old series 6 AW when this happened to me. I was just sitting at my desk when suddenly it went blank. At first I thought it was completely dead but like you say it sometimes gave haptic feedback. I think it was just the screen that was dead. I was able to unpair it from my iPhone. Yesterday I took it to an Apple Store for a genius bar appointment. The guy hadn't heard of any similar cases and tried telling me it would take a few weeks to repair. I said this is a defective product and I want to exercise my legal right to a replacement or a refund. After a while he gave in and ordered a replacement which I'm supposed to receive in about a week.

Perhaps you should do the same.
I filed warranty claim and the repaired watch will arrive tomorrow.
Apple sent me a box with prepaid postage so I didn't have to pay anything.

Apple sent me a refurbished unit that has a different serial number. It looks brand new.

I guess you are all lucky. I went to the genius appointment and they said they cant do anything to replace it. The watch is 8 months old still under warranty. All they can do is to send it for repair it will take weeks :(

So ... a weird thing happened today. I went to the local store told them that the watch is not working anymore and they said ok show me and let's send it to Apple so they can fix it and hopefully they will send a new unit in.

As I was trying to show that the touch screen is not working, it suddenly started working lol and 1 minute ago when I was in my car it wouldn't work.

So far it's still working without issues. Be patient if it happens to you as well lol

Just posted this on another thread. I’m still stuck trying to get mine repaired. They want £235 for repair. Shocking…

I took my immaculate and well looked after series 6 swimming for the first time and it started going crazy. Now won’t turn on. I have had a nightmare with Apple not wanting to do anything about it. The watch is 10 months old and still in warrantee . Bought from an Apple store too. I was put through to deal with someone senior, his lack of knowledge was appalling and actually told me that as soon as it leaves the factory, it effectively shouldn’t be used for swimming as micro cracks can form and get worse with wear. Just shocking. I asked exactly why it is still advertised as being suitable for swimming. I also requested that they take that part immediately down form the website if that was the case! I’d reached sarcasm point at this stage. I am now dealing with the store directly as they closed the case and said since the seal have been breached (sent photos) there is nothing they can do - this was obvious from the start since it started playing up immediately after getting out of the pool. I have had every Apple phone, watch, iPad etc over the years. A loyal customer for over 20 years. Just appalled by this. If this doesn’t get sorted I will be moving to pixel 6 as a matter of principal. I’ll keep fighting though. I would think carefully about using the watch while swimming unless you took out Apple care+.

For me, the only solution was to unpair the AW, leave the battery exhaust, recharge it, power on and pair the AW again.

Series 3 watch screen hasn’t been responding properly for a week or so. Took off the screen protector, hard reset, unpair/pair nothing. I read above someone went swimming in salt water and had a similar issue. I recently started working out and figured maybe the salt from sweat was causing a problem. Submerged the watch in water for 5 minutes, pushed the buttons, and rotated the crown. Pulled it out and dried it off then did the water discharge feature. WORKING like a charm now. Was worth a shot. Now I know I need to clean my watch weekly.

BigDO solution worked like a charm for me. I tried everything (restarting, repairing, etc) but nothing seemed to work.
After leaving my watch under fresh drinkable water for 3 hours, drying it and tapping it agains a mattress for a couple of minutes

For those stuck with an unresponsive screen, you can use your watch using hand gestures like pinch and clench. You just have to turn AssistiveTouch on, under Settings > Accessibility
