I'm really torn.
I feel like midnight is the solid choice, it will always look fine reagrdless of your clothing, but it will also always be boring. It does seem to be less grey and have a hint of blue this year, so in that regard it's a bit different...by little. But the green looks very unique. It gives me "running in the forest, during the cold fall" vibes. The color inspires me. There's something very moody about it, if you get me?

My last watch was series 5 Nike edition in space grey. I've never had titanium, steel or the other models, and I'm not looking into those.
The reason i've had the Nike is because I LOVE their exclusive faces, I love their font and placement. it has a funky cool vibe to it, that Apple doesn't offer. So, that has also always played a huge part in my decision. I think the new series 7 face is the first one I've seen by Apple, that I actually like...

If only there was more "in person" pictures and videos to give me an idea how how it'll look like...

Help a confused person out. I know the obvious answer is "go with that you like," but I cannot make up my mind.

How often will you be in your "moody vibe"? If you buy the green it'll be for the entire lifetime of the watch.. no matter what watch band you use and it's going to be hard if you play with band colours..

Now.. if you buy the midnight, you could spice it up with a fiery red band, create stormtrooper look with white band etc.. and play with any colour cos of how neutral black-ish this midnight is.. You can even go moody vibe with midnight watch+pine green band..

As a watch band collector, you can spice up the black watch with the vibrant bands, hope this perspective helps you haha..

I'm wondering how blue the 'midnight' will be. The thing is that I like to wear black bands and just like with any color, when you put pure black or white next to a hued one, the difference becomes apparent. The same would actually happen when wearing it with black clothes.

I don't see any other reason for Apple to change this than to make the premium colors stand out more and thus justify the higher price.

I wouldn't have a problem paying $1k for a traditional watch, since they are for a lifetime and great aftermarket value, but for a piece that is close to useless in a couple of years? I'm too frugal/poor for that.

Might be bad for Apple Watch market share if competitors offer traditional colors for way more affordable prices. I don't see this bring an issue yet since AW is better in other aspects, but if usability would be on par, I bet a lot of people go for the looks (a lot of people even prefer looks over usability).

This is what convinced me to go with Midnight. Though I do wish I could swap the bands a little quicker. Maybe it is just me, but it is an annoying tedious process every time.

That’s a great point.. however, I’ve never been into bands… I always preferred the velcro band, i don’t like silicone it’s heavy and uncomfortable on my tiny wrist.

i personally have a ceramic series 5.. and i collect watch bands.. so this year's selections (like series 6) don't appeal that much to me.. worse that they removed silver and i'm not a fan of the gold/silver hybrid that is starlight..

oh well.. maybe sitting out another year.. Good luck selecting a nice colour!

Midnight is blue. I have a Midnight leather case and my wife has a midnight silicone case. I’m a very neutral colors guy. Black being the obvious choice for me. I had doubts about midnight but when I first unboxed the cases, I thought, maybe this won’t be so bad. However, up against the black bezels of my phone or anything black for that matter, it looks way too blue for my liking.

Was a shame when they got rid of Space Black and now just as bad with ditching Space Gray. You now got a blue trying to be black and a yellow trying to be white.

Is it a dusty or deep midnight blue?

I’m so torn between midnight and green that I maybe just get the graphite SS. My S5 got a few dents in its aluminum case.. and I am always afraid of scratches. But the price… I just don’t know what to do.

I have the midnight 13 and it is a variation of black and dark navy blue. In sunlight, it comes off as a very dark navy blue. In other conditions, it looks black. I absolutely love the color.

The green is stunning. If I were upgrading I'd go green. Not only is it beautiful but who knows if it will be eliminated with next year's watch. There will always be a dark grey option.

My thoughts exactly about the green: stunning. But... on the screen. I think I'll wait to see them Irl to decide between the green, red and midnight (only if it has some navy tint).

I took two photos from my iPad Pro in a naturally lighted room with blinds down. I purposely took one with my black bed frame in the background so you can see the contrast. View it with your brightness set to high. Midnight is a shade of blue, no doubt.

Some tech sites are listing Midnight as “black”. I can’t really tell though from Apple’s pictures whether it’s blue or black.

I have the midnight iPhone 13 and I'd say it's mostly black but in direct sunlight or well lit conditions it looks like a dark navy blue.

yeah, I also saw some listed the Nike edition as space gray.

Can you clarify what you mean by dusty?

I didn't have the proper word... what I meant is like a charcoal color. Charcoal usually has a light ashy black with a blue-ish hue to it.

Ah gotcha. I’d go with ashy, dusty, charcoaly, etc… but you can see my pics above and judge for yourself. Remember to try to get the colors on your display as true as possible to get a good idea. Remove night shift, turn brightness up, etc. I am not a fan of the color at all but it’s the closest to black there is so it is what it is.

yeah, I can definitely see it. I wonder how it'll look like on aluminum though. Like the starlight looks white on the iPhone but beige/champagne on the iPad.

I think get the green. The Sierra Blue was not as bad as people thought and I think this green will be nice. I am a midnight green fan as well.

That’s why I haven’t ordered it. I don’t want a blue watch no matter how dark it is. Gonna need to see it in person or wait for the reviews to come out.
