It’s not just for women's menstrual cycles. If I go swimming, or use a hot tub, I can see the water temperature on my watch. Cool! Was in my hot tub tonight, and when I dipped my hand underwater, the new diving app came up automatically, and the temperature was right there, along with letting me know my arm was 1 foot underwater.

Maybe I can stick my arm in my coffee maker tomorrow morning to ensure my coffee is between 195° and 210°?

No, it’s not the temperature sensor that does this, it’s the depth sensor that measures water temperature

I don’t understand why the S8 can’t measure water temperature. Doesn’t it have the same temperature sensors? I don’t want a bulky Ultra but it would be fun to see what temp the water is when I go swimming.

The temperature sensor in Series 8 is designed for skin temperature. The inner and outer sensor works in coordination for this purporse. Ultra senses the water temperature with its water depth sensor. Also it has the other two sensors for skin temperature measurement.
