I've got an iPhone and Apple Watch waiting for me back home (I'm currently out of the U.S.). When I pair the watch to the phone, will anything get messed up if I switch my phone's sim card? I normally switch out the U.S. sim when I travel to Mexico and put a Mexican sim in. I guess my question is, and excuse my ignorance, does the Watch connect via bluetooth only ala Pebble meaning it wouldn't matter if my phone number changes (watch will send notifications from whatever number sim is installed in the phone since it is getting everything via bluetooth) or is the Watch somehow linked to my phone number?

I'm guessing switching between two sims wouldn't be an issue since the bluetooth pairing will work regardless of what sim is installed, but I wanted to check to see if there was any issue and if there was, how to best remedy it.

Thanks in advance.

The SIM card doesn't matter. The Watch just connects through Bluetooth, and wi-fi.

I live in the States and switched out the sim card in Germany. I traveled all over Europe with the German sim card. No problem using watch with phone in Europe and no problem whatsoever when I switched the sim card back when I returned.

That makes me feel better. Switching out sims has become something I do every Tim I travel abroad, so it's good to know the watch won't skip a beat there.
