When I send a voice text from my watch to my husbands iPhone 5 it is not received. He does receive them when I send them from my phone. Anyone else having this issue?

No, that's strange. When you send a message from the watch does it come up on your iPhone in the conversation?

Yes it does. Doesn't say delivered however, since it isn't.
Since it appears in the conversation the watch made the connection to the phone but the phone failed to send. I would restart the phone and/or toggle iMessage off and then on.

Just tried all that. Still not working. :/
The only time I've seen the message in the window without a "delivered" or "read" text it's been because the system was down or there was a problem on the recipients end.

Again if the message does appear on the phone then dictation was working and as long as Siri is enabled and working it should send. But sending is not receiving.

I'm going to call apple when I get a chance. It does work when I send it via text.

Something similar happened with my wife's watch. She couldn't send me heart beats or drawings or even text through the friend button. She could receive them though.

It actually turned out to be the phone at fault. Erasing all content and setting on the phone and then repairing the watch worked. Make sure to back up.

I wonder if just resetting network settings on the phone would do it? Erasing all content and then restoring the phone is a huge step and pain!

Agreed. I'd rather not reset everything but I've only had the phone a couple weeks so it doesn't have a ton of stuff on it yet..

You can try it first like we did. Ended up having to do the content erase. I know. Huge pita. And then he recommended not using the backup and start from scratch since there might be problems that could port over. Been working great since.

I have to think there's a simpler way. I haven't seen other posts of this issue and haven't experienced it myself but I realize this would be a major problem.

Normally I advise people against un-pairing the watch from the phone unless there is a major issue because that's a pain as well but much less than wiping and restoring the phone. Maybe that might work?

Thinking about this I realized you can send a text even if your phone is turned off when you're on a known wifi network. I've done it a few times myself. The watch can connect to a wifi network that the phone has previously used even if the phone is off.

I wonder if you are able to send a message that way?

Just in case you're still having the problem. Are you using two factor authorization for your Apple ID/iCloud account? I saw some posts from others having the same problem and that was the issue for them.

Try just rebooting both devices first. If that does not work, un-pair and then re-pair you watch. If that does not work the "pain" step is your last hope.

I'm not having the problem. But I've been reading some posts about a very similar issue and it turned out to be the two factor authorization.

Problem solved. Took a few reps but it was only because I had not logged into my apple id under imessages.
