Apple Watch battery issues

My wife has noticed that since the last os update for her watch, the battery life has dropped dramatically, barely making it thru an 8 hour workday. Has anyone else experienced this? If not, any ideas what may be causing this?

Her watch is a series 1, 42 mm, about 2 years old.

Maybe replacing battery would help. Unpair and repair might solve battery issue too. I just encountered a strange bug that would let the watch do something itself, draining battery like crazy. An unpair and repair fixed it.

This can also be caused by an errant app. See if there's any 3rd party app that might cause this.

I have a series 3 but whenever I update it I get the same issue. Unpairing and re-pairing has always done the trick for me. It’s annoying but works. After the re-pair, it usually takes a few hours to stop draining so if she tries this, don’t panic if it’s not immediately fixed.
