Amazon has nearly every model of the Aluminum Apple Watch Series 9 on sale at new record low prices in one of the first best Black Friday deals of the season. You can get the 41mm GPS model of the brand new smartwatch for $349.00, down from $399.00.

Apple launched the Series 9 models back in September, and since then the steepest discounts have been about $10-20. This makes Amazon's sale today a notable markdown and definitely one of the overall best seen so far during Black Friday 2023. It's available in all five Aluminum models, as well as in both S/M and M/L fits.

Likewise, Amazon has the 45mm GPS Apple Watch Series 9 for $379.00, down from $429.00. It's also available in all five Aluminum color options, both S/M and M/L fits, and this is another record low price on the smartwatch.

Cellular Apple Watch Series 9 deals are just as abundant on Amazon right now. You can get the 41mm Cellular model for $449.00 and the 45mm Cellular model for $479.00, both of which are $50 discounts and all-time low prices. You'll again find all five Aluminum options on sale at these prices, as well as multiple size options.

I bought mine yesterday from Amazon using my Amazon credit card to save an additional 5%

$349 is definitely one of the best prices that I’ve seen over the past few years relative to when it was released

There’s a chance that it could go down to $339 over the next month or two but in past years, I’ve never seen it go below $339 for this time of year

There may be better deals in the spring but that’s really far off - $349 is a bargain considering it came out a little over a month ago

About a month ago somewhere online, maybe B&H, I don't remember exactly where, but AWS9 was going for $329.99 but sold out almost as quickly as it was listed.

I guess it was too quick for MacRumors to post about it but just as a reminder there are sometimes even better deals out here online.

This is an excellent price. And people who have a S6 or earlier would enjoy the extra features and larger screen size of the S9.

But the S9 is scarcely better than the S8 or S7. They all share the same screen size and most of the same features. I've worn an S9 and S7 on my wrist and find that the faster chip in the S9 makes no discernable difference in the speed of loading and running various apps. The only benefits to the faster chip in the S9 are on-device Siri and double-tap. These will be very valuable for some users, but most will find the S7 or S8 makes them just as happy as an S9 would.

If you can get the S9 for a great price, that makes sense, plus you'll get a better resale value when you're ready to upgrade again in the future.

But if you miss out on the S9 discount, you can certainly find an S8 or refurbished S7 in excellent condition that may very well serve your needs as well as an S9 would.

If you already have an S7 or S8, it's a good idea to learn exactly what you'd be getting with the S9 that your existing Watch doesn't have, and make sure it's worth the expense of upgrading. That's generally true for any tech devices of course, but it's more important here because there are so few meaningful improvements in the Apple Watch from one year to the next. It's easy to upgrade and then realize that your new Watch doesn't have any features you value that your existing Watch already had.

My S5's battery is still good. Instead of a possible battery replacement, will hold off to see If next year's model gets the B/P monitoring feature as rumoured.

The Battery on my s5 was so miserable with the new OS I traded it in and got a 9. My next update will be Micro LED

While I personally would love another AW with a different case color like red. It's just too incremental of a update. Personally the best time to upgrade is when your watch reaches the end of the line on updates, and/or battery life where the cost is better to just replace.

I'm waiting to see if next year's model gets the blood pressure monitoring feature.
That's my exact plan too. Even if its slightly inaccurate I could live with it, just to get those measurements. Only found out the past year or two that I had high blood pressure and was put on some meds, but I want to keep track of it more regularly than I do. AW has made a huge impact on my overall health, this would be icing in the cake.
