I have a business account where my work pays for my phone bill and I never see the bill at all. I do not have access to the account so my question is this...will I be able to use the apple watch with my phone number and pay the monthly fee separately? My work probably won't pay for the additional charge so not sure how to get access to the cellular capability.

I am in the same boat. I don't mind spending $10 a month to get an AW3 with cellular, but I am not going to take over financial responsibility of my data plan or start a new one for $50-100 a month. I spoke with AT&T about it and they told me the business must order and process the payment and order. Not a good option for us lucky folks who don't see a mobile phone bill, but it's the price we don't pay ;)

Your iPhone and Apple Watch must be on the same billing account.

Most companies probably won’t allow that unless u can prove you need it for business. As far as paying them 10 a month or having them taking it out of your pay check they probably won’t want to deal with it. I work in IT and I know this won’t happen at my company unless your a really high up executive etc. you know the people you can’t say no too.

In same boat here. I asked our mobile team and they told us they are unable to add accessories to our ATT business account.

Anyone know if you can link your Watch to another account, such as wife, but without linking the phone numbers? I just want to access her data plan, not phone calls or texts.

I agree. My IT department isn't gonna deal with this so it's a bit of a problem. I'm willing to pay but they aren't gonna want to deal with the logistics and they sure just won't add it and pay for me so what are supposed to do? Adding a data onto my wife's account isn't a bad idea but I bet ATT won't do that as they told me it has to be on the same account. I'm hoping there will be some solution here.

Same problem as you guys. Work pays for my service, and offers discount to bring you own device so I always get the newest phone usually. Definitely won't get my company to pay service for a watch though. Was hoping to pay on my personal direct tv/girlfriends att mobile account but not looking good for now. Was looking forward to upgrading this year from my first gen watch but not looking likely anytime soon without cellular options getting better.

Just a thought but could you buy a cheap sim and associate this with your watch then divert your business phone to the watch when you are not carrying the phone?

Sorry but no this will not work. The watch and the paired iPhone have to be on the same line of service. So unless you want to link your wife's iPhone to the watch, then you are mostly wasting your time.

The only workable option that is known today is to pair the watch to a donor iPhone and then unpair them and use the watch as a standalone LTE phone. So no seamless management of phone calls, SMS TXT, MMS or other great new features at this time.

Note: Each watch with LTE will be assigned a phone number from your provider once there is a wearable plan assigned ot the watch.

A buddy of mine is in the same situation. Fortunately for me the ATT is in my name and we just get a stipend per month. I would not want my number on a corporate account but some people don't have a choice. Id rather just pay out of pocket.

I’m in a similar boat. I’m with Verizon. Has anyone 100% confirmed that if you order your Apple Watch with your Verizon personal account, that you cannot pair it and use numbersync with another iPhone?

I find that very hard to believe, but honestly I am not sure.

I gambled on it and we shall see.

Anyone have input?
