So I have a cellular watch (series 6) on my AT&T plan, and it’s on a contract because I did the BOGO last year and got my son the freebie.

I want to give my oldest daughter the series 6, and let her use the cellular plan, but her phone, though AT&T, is on a different account.

Will she not be able to get cellular set up on the device?

I remember my mobile carrier has a family Apple Watch plan which seems to be for this family setup thing.

How about family set up on your iPhone? Although I haven’t tried before.

Well, she actually wants to do that on her phone, so she can send with my granddaughter to use when she is at someone else’s house in case of emergencies. She doesn’t want her to have a phone.

She should be able to add the watch to her account with the help of customer support.

I don’t even care if she moves it to her account - just didn’t know if she could pair it and use it with cellular while it was still on MY account since her phone is not on my account.

Why would you keep the watch on your cellular account if you are giving it to your daughter? Just remove your watch from your account before giving it to her.

I’m guessing here but I’m pretty sure it’s because she’s getting credits over 24 months to help offset the cost of the watch. If she removes it, she’ll lose the credits and owe the entire remainder of the balance.

Yeah I did a BOGO so my son’s watch is basically free as long as I keep paying the payment for this one, so I was gonna try to keep it on my plan. ATT said today I can do it, but I think we will have to go into a store to actually get it all set up.
