It is a shame that Apple relies so heavily on technology that is not available in third world countries such as Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic, Greece or Finland.

Useless hardware. Can’t even use it to access a simple NFC door but I can with a cheapo watch with NFC. Apple is hindering the benefits of tech for the people. Watch OS stopped being relevant 5 years ago. The big updates are new watch faces and now a “new translucent interface”. Ridiculous.

All that on a tiny little screen. All I really need is the time, sports scores and appointment reminders.

The NFC bit with the phone and the watch is definitely indefensible

Do the complications in the depicted image come from one or more specific sailing apps?

After iPad 11 with no Apple intelligence and the price increase of iPhone 16e compared to iPhone SE, in my opinion Apple intelligence could arrive on an Apple Watch in Titanium or stainless steel and Ultra. The aluminum models are are economical to recover development costs.

I like how Apple is still throwing around apple intelligence like it's a significant benefit to their ecosystem.

Marketing: "We should stop marketing apple intelligence, its horrid and people know it"
Tim: "Yes but the boomers have no idea"

Oh my god… well Apple intelligence on the watch is actually my number one requested feature besides maybe on the homepod! But in the sense that it works like: raise to speak - and then be able to talk to the watch like I can to ChatGPT, ask stuff, get meaningful answers. THAT would be great and an instant buy. Everything else… meh

Just not having access to notes is as stupid a decision as not having a calculator on the iPad for years. Someone over there in Cupertino should wake up.

I would definitely prefer a custom clock face, a better battery, a real torch, a full keyboard in multiple languages, Android or iPad integration, blood pressure measurement, system notes and offline topographical maps. Yes, the look of the system is already boring too.

A redesign of watchOS is possible. Don't think Apple Intelligence will be coming to the watch anytime soon. Don't know how useful it will be too.

I would have more trust in such big software changes if they stopped with the yearly September releases and just took more time and released whenever it was actually ready.

Snow Leopard - August 2009
Lion - July 2011

Okay, never mind.

You can use AI in those countries, you just need to switch language to ENG.

Without local language support, Apple Intelligence works even worse and more unreliably. Especially if you communicate and create content mainly in your own language, it becomes virtually useless, and changing the language to English does nothing.

I don't want a refresh, I just want the watch to work properly and be battery efficient. I want Find My to work and not have to wait 5 minutes to get info on the location of a family member.

If you want to release one feature, allow 3rd party watch faces for goodness sakes.

Yep, language support from Apple is abysmal, Siri was not in CZ since always.
What I use with AI is clean up, priority notifications and proofreading of English texts.

It kinda makes obvious sense right that Apple Watch should support Apple AI? Such as it is anyway.
But I'd also like Apple to fix the bugs and flaws of iOS too.
I feel Apple again is getting worst and worst with the software whilst the hardware races ahead.

I have never experienced visionOS, but it seems strange to me to apply the UI standard of one of the least successful (sales) product to all of the other platforms. Why can't they all have their unique take on a basic style so each fits best with the medium?

Apple Intelligence? There is not a single thing intelligent about Apple Intelligence. Siri still sucks and the whole iPhone 16 was built for Apple Intelligence was a big joke. Hardly anything useful.

I have a Series 7, I wanted a Series 10, but I didn't see anything worth noting in it, I'll wait for the 11, but I'm already thinking about Garmin. Although, it will be difficult for me to come to terms with a round screen. If a round screen was great for displaying information, we would use such in laptops and monitors. However, Garmin does what a smartwatch should do and doesn't justify itself with the idiotic need for 8 GB of RAM, AI and other nonsense. It analyzes available data, fatigue level, energy, training.
