I just saw a Craigslist post for a SS 42mm with black sport band for $300. I emailed the person and I don't think they use Apple products and dont really realize what they have. It's never been used, at least the ad states it hasn't , and has all the packaging and has only been opened to photograph. I may meet with them later today to see in person if this is legit. I will probably say hey you know this is worth more than that...

You can add AppleCare to it for up to 60 days with an inspection at an Apple Store correct?

60 days from the original purchase date not from the day you buy it on Craigslist. If he or who he got it from bought it less than 60 days ago Apple might sell the AppleCare though I'm not sure if you need the original receipt.

Seems like a good deal, and it could be realistic though I'd say $400-range is probably the "going" rate for SS 42mm. $300 might be offered only if they want it to move fast.

I'd be careful about it being a scam or being jumped especially when something is "too good" of a deal.

Also I'd activate in front of him because if its stolen it may have activation lock which can mean you just bought a $300 paperweight.

Yes I was definitely going to try and activate it in front of him. I was a little shocked by the price. I am still skeptical but I will wait and see what happens when I hear back from him. Every now and then I do see scam offers pop up for apple watches on craigslist. There is one near me that keeps showing up for $170 and it seems incredibly shady.

I have seen 42 mm sport pop up on my local craigslist for $250 last weekend. Also saw an add tonight for $285 located 100 miles from me for 42 mm sport. I have been using original pebble for almost 2 years now. And although I do like Apple Watch I don't think I'm quite ready to pull the trigger yet. Maybe once I find one for $200?

Sold mine for $340 and am in the same boat. I miss it...

Do they provide an actual email address and a phone number within your area code?

For the $170 listing no they do not. It's weird. The other $300 one has disappeared from the listings and he told me "today wasn't good" so I'm assuming it's shady and staying away! Now I will just wait for Black Friday.

Craigslist shopping can be an adventure! One deal I've found and replied to the guys responded within 5 minutes saying it was already sold but pointed me to the site where he got it from. A day later he reposted the same exacted ad.

All the apple watch sports on craigslist in Portland are still selling them near retail. There's one selling a leather loop watch steel with extra sport plus apple care for $500 though.

I got my SS 42mm with leather loop and normal black band on CL for $350. It also included AppleCare+.

We met at an Apple Store for the transaction, and I verified everything in shop on my laptop. I actually ended up exchanging the black band because of peeling and the leather loop because I wanted a different color (truth was they both wreaked of cig smoke and cologne).

So at the end of the day, I ended up with a like new condition SS42mm with 2 brand new bands. He claimed it was a gift and needed the cash instead of a gift card.

It was a pretty smooth exchange. There are definitely deals to be had on CL. Just use every precaution you can. Meet in public places, if it sounds suspicious at all, it probably is, etc.

Without a receipt I doubt an apple store will verify functionality and let one buy apple care.. might do it, but seems fishy.

I always have them meet me in a public place, preferably in a starbucks or somewhere where there lots of people.

I've personally bought most of my apple products on craigslist.

One thing to note when I sold my apple watch is that even though I reset it I it was still linked to my iCloud account. The customer texted me and I had to log into my iCloud account and manually unlink it.

Many cities now have "craigslist meetup" locations at local police stations.. if it's close enough to both parties and one of them says no, that should be a sign..

So I was browsing in the electronics section on Craigslist looking for an Xbox one and I came across a 38mm black sports watch for sale. They were asking $275 for it but I offered $250 and they accepted. $250 was about the price point I was willing to pay for any Apple watch. Went to pick it up, everything looks great, complete with packaging and it even had a screen protector on it. Went back to work and wanted to check the warranty status on when it was purchased and whatnot. To my surprise, it had applecare on it til June 2017. I think I did pretty good.
LUCKY YOU. That's honestly all this Apple Watch is worth lol

$250 for a $350 watch sounds about right. You got a good deal though cause it included AppleCare, just hope they don't cancel it. Though most people are unaware they can get a partial refund if they do.

Good Lord, man. Get an Apple Watch and ditch the Pebble immediately. It's like night and day.

I've had some people respond that they completely understand if I didn't want to meet up with them at their place which sometimes would be in known bad parts of the city.

but its not a 350$ watch (unless you mean discount for not being new) this was a SS Stainless model, which starts at 599$ with just the black band.

Just found a bnib (he won it) black stainless with sport band. I plan on buying it for $400 for my wife. A late birthday present for her. If she doesn't like it I feel like I could sell it for that around xmas time easily.

Well I bought the watch for $400, and I was able to return it to Apple and get a credit of $634.00

Seems like a great deal to me considering I can now buy a watch for the wife and I or buy an iphone 6s

Did you need a receipt to return it?

Negative. It just needed to be purchased in a store and the store was able to find that for me.

So you're saying someone bought an Apple watch and rather than return it for a full refund without a hassle... they went online and went through the hassle to sell it at a several hundred dollar loss... within the return period?
