I will wait for the price drop of the v2 or v3.
Or maybe wait just a few short weeks for the price drop of the v1.
(Remember how Apple lowered the price of the original iPhone by $200 less than three months after the initial release?)

Above is the link to the prices that were leaked.
I believe that was a summary posted from Gruber's prediction, not an actual leak.

GOOD, I hope so. That is a horrid pricing plan!
Ah, that's a relief. Thanks for the clarification.Yes, just something a forum member put together based largely on Grubers predictions.
Just a little bit down this page...

I think the poster above is right about the size difference. I don't think Apple is looking at the size difference as MBP 13' and 15' screens. I think its a 'how well this fits me' category and their pricing tiers will stem from the bands and different physical watch faces. It's seems odd for nominal size difference to cost THAT much more in its class when in general it seems the smaller face is geared towards smaller wrists (typically speaking female fitting) and the larger face for larger wrists (typically male fitting)
that almost sounds like u have to stick to the band it comes with?
It's not just the price that defers me from buying the v1, but def a good price drop would make me reconsider.Or maybe wait just a few short weeks for the price drop of the v1.

Tim Cook better have that face paint at the March event.
From what we've been told so far, that is unlikely. If you buy a space gray watch and the only band that comes with it is the black one, then you can buy a different band. You will then have two bands.
If you want the only band in your possession to be alien green, then it will be up to you to buy the alien green band you prefer and then dispose of the black band by selling it, giving it away, or, tossing it in the trash.
I think the Watch will come with a band in the box, but every band won't be available in the box with the Watch. Some band styles and colors may only be available as "second" bands.Non of the watches comes with bands because there will be way too many models. Also keep in mind that there are two watch sizes too! This will be more models than anything they've ever made if the watch came with the band. Someone do the math and tell us how many models there would be for both watch sizes combined, plus the space gray stainless steel and rose gold edition version if Apple were to sell the bands with the watches. Almost 100 models?
Or maybe wait just a few short weeks for the price drop of the v1.

I'm intrigued how the Apple Watch Edition will work in terms of future trade-ins or rebates. You'd be crazy to buy a $6k+ mini computer you strap to your wrist, if in 3 years time when the technology is old and redundant, and the battery has faded, its essentially a useless gold brick strapped to your wrist. Obviously traditional solid gold watches are worth something, and have ongoing resale value.
If a basic watch is $300 and the gold one is $6000 (guess from certain posts), then surely the gold is $5700 of its value? How do you get that back to buy a future model instead?
I disagree. But we only have to wait a week to learn the answer to this and many other questions.Doesn't seem like something Apple would do. They'd want everyone to walk out the store with the band they want without having to purchase an extra band. I think the watch will be in it's own box, when you tell the Apple associate what watch you want they will show you on their iPad or iPod which bands can be used with the watch you selected and they'll go to the back and bring out both the watch and the band in separate packages. I'm only interested in owning the black sport band with the gold watch if the price isn't more than $2000. But based on your logic if the bands are to be paired with the watch and that model sells out, I must purchase the gold watch that comes with a different color band and then buy an additional black sport band separate... I'll then end up having a leather band or some other color band I absolutely do not want at all. I believe Apple has taken this into consideration and wouldn't want someone to have to buy for example a gold watch with gray leather band when they wanted a gold watch with black sport band because they want everyone to be happy with their purchase and not walking around asking or posting online who wants to trade watch bands.
Actually that black MacBook WAS literally more for just the color: you could BTO the white to match the specs of the black exactly, but the price was still lower. An interesting case, but far and away the exception to Apple's rule: other than that, colors alone haven't cost more.
I wish we would go back to simpler color names.
Space gray... yes right...
Glassed Silver:mac
I said color names, not colors.
