I have seen the watch in the stores before and even tried some on before choosing a size. I just returned home from a trip and my watch was waiting. I have it all set up now and the design is just stunning. It is truly a thing of beauty! I have worn fitbit the last 4 years and the fitbit blaze almost 2 years. Fitbit looks like a large toy, next to my AW.

So in love! Got the Space Gray with Black sport band.

Some think the look is boring, some would prefer the option of a round face, but I think the design is functional and minimalist, and the build quality is excellent.
Just don't expect a useful life of more than 3 years.

you you like the aluminum, you should see the SS
For the space black I agree, but I'd take a matte aluminum one over the polished silver stainless steel any day! Not to mention the price difference for an item bound to be replaced after 1-2 years ...

I did see the space black at the Apple store. It was nice too. I am happy with the aluminum and like the matte finish. Like all my Apple products, the design is superb compared to similar products. Even the packaging is incredible. :)

The square face makes it easier to grip when using the Digital Crown: thumb and side of middle finger for stability and scroll with index. I think a round face would be awkward.

IMHO, I think the silver SS matches more bands. I have a series 0 SS and it looks great with both the link bracelet, the buckles, and the sport bands. That said I have both a SB and silver SS at home waiting for me to decide. Maybe it’s time to mix things up.

The paradigm will change about watches having to be round. That was great for analog watches but for reading information on a round screen is way more difficult and doesn't look right. I would hate to scroll through emails and messages on a round screen(yes they could crop it into a smaller square). Imagine a round computer monitor or TV. I hope Apple sticks with the rectangle screen and just makes less boarders etc. In 10 years we will look back and think how odd round watches look. This is coming form a guy who loves swiss mechanicals and prefers them round but times are changing.

Why? He loves the sg aluminum and saved himself $400. Win win!

I bought the SG sport also and love it. $400 more for The SS that does the same thing as the SG version and will be outdated in a year? No thanks.

You're correct, they both do the exact same thing and have the same watchOS Incorporated. I will say The stainless has a really nice added weight to give it more premium feel and in the Sapphire display is a real advantage to protect the screen from any scratches. So it does have its advantages.

I got the SG aluminum with gray band and love it too! I think gray goes with anything. I’ve put a silver 3rd party Milanese band on it and think it looks good, sometimes-gasp- I pop on the silver bumper and give it a cool contrast new look. Enjoy what you like is what I say. :)
