But honestly I thought the watch was gonna get scratched not the whole screen shattered..

What a pointless video. YouTube really has both the best and worst that the internet has to offer all in one place.

Why? It's glass. Would you not expect the iPhone to have the same issue? Note that it was purposefully dropped face-first onto the ground. How realistic is that scenario with everyday use? It's not as if this is a device that you're carrying around with you; it's literally attached and far less prone to dropping than any iPhone ever has been. This is a total non-issue.

The only value that this video provided was demonstrating what a grown man temper tantrum looks like.

idk the screen on the watch is so small comparing to iPhone I didn't think it would shatter so with one drop..

Funny thing is, the SS with sapphire would shatter the same maybe even easier since the glass isn't as flexible as the Ion-x glass on the sport. Either way, there's no way I'm dropping this baby! :D

Apple watch sport glass broke dropping from 1m....

Got this from a Chinese site... Guy said it landed glass first on the ground

Ouch! If that's a real Apple Watch, well, I guess there goes the argument in favor of Gorilla Glass for better impact resistance.

I think I'm going to go place my order for Apple Care now...

This pretty much matches the results from the OP...

I have the SS version but sapphire is supposed to be more brittle than the ionX glass. People seem to be assuming after these drop test that somehow the sapphire will do better. I'm not so sure. Looks like I may go ahead and purchase apple care (even though I have multiple other watches with sapphire faces and have never had an issue. Of course I do have those insured as well.)

Hmm, I have owned expensive/inexpensive watches and have never dropped one. Either you're uncoordinated or an accident waiting to happen. Here's a concept, don't buy the watch. Watch is fine and exceeds most standards for sports watches. Where are the tests on $400+ Garmins or Suunto's. Just haters as usual.

Haha. No need to be sorry...some people just don't get it.

Next thing you'll hear is "Apple watch overheats when you put it in a pot with boiling water" tada!

I actually saw a video with this test. Hahaha. Incredibly, result was that watch only showed a "hot" warning message. Hahaha.
