    Hi,

Does anyone know if having the Apple Watch within a close proximity of an iPhone eliminates the need to unlock it each time you use it?

It would be nice if you could simply turn on an iPhone without typing in a passcode or using touch ID – using the watch to "verify" the owner.

Does anyone know if that will be possible?

    Thanks in advance!

If you mean skipping the lock screen, that's not going to happen because the lock screen is there for a reason so we'll still need to unlock the iPhone.

If you mean skipping having to enter the passcode, maybe but TouchID itself is already faster than sliding to unlock without a passcode.

What could have eliminated the lock screen was a smart cover. It's so strange that Apple didn't implement one, at the very least on the 6+.
