Apple Watch Goes into Silent Mode

Quite often I find that my watch has mysteriously gone into silent mode. When I look at the glance that shows the choices of pinging the phone, airplane mode, sleep and silent mode, silent mode is often on.
I definitely have not enabled silent mode and only realise it is on when my phone rings and the watch does not.
Not a big deal, but just wondering how this could happen?

Yep, there are a few threads on this already. The gist is that if you time covering the face the moment a notification is coming in, it will go into silent mode.
