I'm still on the fence about the Watch. How does the display hold up in sunny outdoor conditions? My iPhone 6 is barely readable in direct sunlight. Curious if the Watch is the same.

I was at a theme park on Saturday and I never had any trouble reading it ever ( In direct sunlight basically the entire day)

I have the stainless steel variant which all the sport owners are now insisting is completely unusable in sunlight, and have used it in bright sunlight shining directly onto the display and had absolutely no issue reading it whatsoever :)

It isn't great, but you can read what you need to. I think the Sport is better than the stainless in this regard - the sapphire is more reflective.

I have the stainless and it is readable in direct sunlight. It doesn't look pretty - it is fairly washed out and murky - but you can read it.

The ambient light sensor works wonders too. I walked from inside a building right out into direct sunlight and my Watch lit up like Christmas.

No issues for me.

No issues here. Of course it's not going to be as bright as it would in the shade or indoors but under no circumstance is it "unreadable".

Sport model here and we have had a lot of sun the last few days. Super easy to read in sunlight with default settings. I am really impressed. Much better than the phone. Possibly because of the OLED screen?
