I know the Apple Watch is customisable and all, but maybe a jailbreak for Apple Watch is plausible?

    Answer what you think.

That would be amazing if the devs come out with a jailbreak! I know they will work on it when they get their hands on it

    It's going to be tough..

... seeing that there is no pinouts to directly connect to. Any jailbreak will have to use whatever BT/WiFi protocol the device uses.

    Jailbreak Apple Watch

Do to think the Apple Watch will be jailbroken after it is released? If so, how long will it take to exploit and will it be worth jailbreaking? If not, how come?

No because it doesn't have a way to make a direct connection. Since all communication is through the iPhone App I don't think it is possible.

EDIT: Thread was moved and merged with another thread.

    I said "think" not "know"...

What if the iPhone was jailbroken?

Then the :apple:Watch SDK won't work. So how would you communicate and program an App?

Why would the :apple:Watch SDK not work when the iPhone was jailbroken?

Even if people can jailbreak the Watch, it'd only just give people the opportunity of running native apps on the Watch. Apple already plans on allowing that later in 2015. Maybe some people won't be able to wait but I will most likely avoid jailbreaking even if it becomes a possibility. The Watch is a relatively delicate device; I'd rather use it as Apple intends than potentially void the warranty or do some other bit of irreversible damage.

Remember the huge iPod jailbreaking scene? Yeah, neither do I.

I don't care about running native apps, I just want to design and use my own watch faces...

    I do
It wasn't huge, but it existed. The term "jailbreaking" just didn't exist at the time.

But also: this device is most likely running a forked version of iOS, why shouldn't people start to tap into it for weaknesses? If anything, I think the JB community helped push forward iOS to some degree, I doubt they would be any different for  Watch.

IMO, any sort of Restore or Update process would, too, which means there's probably a way to access a layer of  Watch that handles raw IO.

Well lucky you, both of your issues can be fixed by simply hitting restore.
