All the metrics collected by the bike computer could be synched wirelessly to Apple's Health app. Heart Rate will be collected by the watch itself, or by the sensor on the bike.
I'm not a serious cyclist, so I don't know a lot about the computers athletes use on their bikes, but I'd be surprised if some of them don't have a way to sync their collected data to a computer for easy tracking of stats over time. This is a perfect use for the HealthKit platform, and some manufacturers will offer this to their cyclists who use iPhones and want to keep their data in the same place as all their other health data.
Your inability to coherently refute even one of my 'claims' speaks volumes.Ah, you're still trying to write nonsensical claims passing them as a serious argument
I'm a cyclist too and that's utter garbage if you believe the iWatch will helpful on your rides
Any real cyclist will want a mounted computer
I ride with a Garmin edge 510
Good luck pairing your sensors to your iWatch
Lol power meter?! Let me guess you don't even know your FTP
Real athletes arent targeted for this watch
We have other tools.
The longer I wait for this watch, the less I want it. I was hyped at first, but that hype is fading fast.
Well don't be so quick to judge saying that I am not a true cyclist. Because u don't know me for one. I do have a Garmin 500. HR monitor. Speed/Cadence sensor. Power meter. All equip on my 2014 CAAD10 black Andized DI2 equip bike. What I need the Apple watch for is mostly notification & accepting calls etc. while on my bike. Where has most time I would have to stop take my phone out my jersey pocket just to see who called, and if I need to return that called espcailly if it's Family being my wife, important business calls etc. Don't have to stop when me the guys are out on training rides, with the Apple watch I can do everything by giving Siri comand right from my watch. Also it would help me in the gym while doing core workouts,To monitor HR Etc. And I think u need to watch the keynote for the Apple watch and not iwatch again if you haven't do so already, and tell if it's not gear for people with active life style like athletes etc. All can benifit from the Apple watch in many ways.
So, one month makes that much difference? Maybe you didn't really want it or need it...
I can not imagine what segment of users will buy this. For folks who wear watches as an accessory... they aren't going to move away from their Rolexes. For folks who want health related stuff tracked, there are cheaper options available. There simply can't be a value that the watch will provide being a part of an ecosystem that's worth 350 bucks.
Edit - But then hey... Apple knows what I want better than I do I guess

I will not change my Breitling for this, thats for sure.

We'll see what happens after Spring.

As a data point, my wife was thinking about getting one of the Rose Gold Rolexes and is holding off until the appleWatch shows up.
Apple isn't selling the appleWatch at you, which is why it makes no sense to you. It's like trying to sell a Mac to a DIY PC builder - it's impossible.

Tim likes your critical choices.I'm a serious cyclist, have a bike computer and still buying an Apple iWatch.

Blind faith in a product that has yet to come to fruition or what possible purpose it may have & you already have committed to purchasing.

LOL. The guy who predicted Apple would never go above $1000 without any evidence is going to be wrong. We'll see who's man enough to admit it.No worries..

Constantly complaining of a product you dislike in a forum of people who like a product, contesting their motivation as somehow less authentic than yours is definitively a sign of OCD and delusion of grandeur.
