i just updated my series 3 watch to watch is 5.0.1 and it said it was complete on my phone. When I went to use it was on the watch face and after that I went to my home screen. After that the apple logo popped up and the download ring came on. Is it possible it wasn’t done updating? At this point it was obviously not on my charger and I was wearing it. Is this normal? The update also took over an hour.

Normal. And mega annoying. With the Apple Watch when it says it’s updated it’s not REALLY updated, as you noticed. It’s unfortunately been this way with every update.

My series 4 took like 5 minutes, Apple have really beefed up the processors in these new watches.

I’m thinking for your update on your series 4 you already had OS 5.0 and updated to 5.0.1 which was a minimal update as opposed to updating from OS 4 to 5.0.1. But no doubt the series 4 is screaming fast. I envy you.

Even small updates on a series 2 would take 30+ minutes.

Series 4 was like 5 minutes.
