I have an Apple Watch Ultra 1 and I’ve suddenly got a bug in the last few weeks where if I’m using ‘custom workout’ to run some intervals my watch just stops recording map data it seems. I’ve attached three examples of three work outs. In example 1 and 3 the map just stops recording and in example 2 it stops and then drops in and out.
What’s strange is it doesn’t appear to have entirely lost satellite as the distance looks like its correct and its pretty close to previous runs so I dont believe it is using the internal sensors like on a treadmill as I think it would be less accurate than it is
In workout 1 I had a workout set as
Warm-up: Open
Repeats 18x 1:15
Rest 0:45
CD.: Open
I pressed physical lap button after 10:00 to finish the workout and its at this point the workout appears to have stopped making a map
Workout 3 was very similar in that
Warm-up: Open
Run: 30:00
CD.: Open
And same issue of just stopping when pressing the button to progress to run
Workout 2 was the only one slight different in that my workout was:
Warm-up: Open
Run 1/2/3/4/5/4/3/2/1/ minutes off 60 second recovery
Then rest open
Then
Repeat 10x 30 seconds run/30 seconds rest
CD.: Open
This seemed to clear the warm up ok and then was working ok but went wrong when I manually intervened as Id accidentally programmed 2x 5 minute reps in. I realised this as running the second 5 so pressed lap at 4:00 in to the 5:00. I let the 60s rest go then on the next interval that should be 3 but was actually 4 I lapped at 3 minutes, pressed lap again to start the 3, pressed again to quickly skip it and now in the rest prior to 2:00 where I continued as normal. This is where it seemed to go and then after this the recording seems to cut in and out randomly in the 30’s
Has anyone experienced anything like this. Im pretty confident its tied to 11.1 as the few workouts I did with 11.0 didn’t do anything like this
