Apple Watch LTE on Verizon Business Plan?

My iPhone is through my work's account which is a business plan. Can the Apple Watch be activated on a Verizon business plan?

Alternatively, must the Apple Watch be activated on the same plan as the phone it will be paired to? Or could I activate it on my wife's Verizon account?

Generally the short answer would be "Yes" but based on your case your work account would also need to be the account where you add the watch service. Both your iPhone and the paired watch must be on the same account. So unless your work wants to add your watch plan or if their Verizon contract even covers wearable lines get's to be a more complex issue.

Here is the official Apple details:
Apple Watch and iPhone service provider must be the same. Not available with all service providers. Not all service providers support enterprise accounts; check with your employer and service provider. Some legacy plans may not be compatible. Prepaid plans are not supported.

Correct. They “tie” the watch's phone number to the iPhone’s number in their system and they have to be on the same account to do that.
