I've been trying to search for that info here and in another groups but it's always quite scattered, so I thought about just starting this thread.
On a daily basis, I would only use a smartwatch for runs and to track my daily activity. However, I do a lot of long distance hikes (+7 days), with zero access to electricity. I only have apple stuff at home, so I wonder if it's worth it to get an apple over a garmin for example.
For me there are two things that attract me the most to garmin, being those the long battery and the fact that even the lower end watches already have SPO2, whereas you need to pay 400 euros for an AW6 to get that function. I also do like sleep tracking as it gives me an overall picture on if I rested or not during the night.
- Saying so, anyone here that went from an AW to Garmin or the other way around?
- SPO2, is it that important or valuable that justifies getting an AW6 over an AW3?
- How do you deal with battery life when hiking? (I won't need GPS, only elevation and occasional heart rate tracking)
