Hard reset is probably the fastest route. I don’t even remember the last time I’ve even powered down my Apple Watch for anything. Usually a hard reset will fix approximately 99% of glitches that down require an OS update.
Did multiple hard resets but that didn't fix it, unfortunately. I even tried setting up the iWatch as a new device instead of restoring the backup, still no luck.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. This frustrates the heck of out me! The worst case is when you need the function (such as to find your phone), and you can't access it.

Reboot is my usual temporary fix, but it happens a lot. Damned annoying.

And sometimes it's just needless drama. I had an iPhone with 'issues', and 'we' reset it, thinking it would be fixed. Nope. Ended up getting a swap, and I knew it wasn't a good waste of time, but 'followed directions'. Sometimes I have to argue with support drones that what they want me to do won't work, or I've (actually) done it and it didn't work, but sometimes it does work. But a full hard reset on a connected device like an iPhone, etc, is loaded with time suck and often frustration, especially when you can't restore from a backup, which is nuts... :rolleyes:o_O:cool:

This is so strange that this post came up, last week my Apple Watch decided to ignore all the notifications from my iPhone lol.

Have this issues every few weeks or sometimes months.. a reboot always solved it. But it’s weird they can’t figure it out and even after several updates this isn’t fixed.

Used to get it about once a week. Reboot was the only cure. Recently it’s stopped happening.
Same here, with my Series 5. Used to happen about once a week or so - I also sometimes when I switched watch faces it would work again, but most of the time, I would just do a hard reset.

I hadn't really noticed until I saw this article, but at some point recently (maybe last few months if I really think about it?) it's stopped happening. Can't remember the last time it occurred, when it used to be a regular occurrence.

Happens to my series 6 watch at least once a week. Thought it was just me. Thanks for the article.

The wife had that. I googled and did the reset. It worked. I thought it strange that it would seem to be stuck in a loop. I did try changing the face, which was all I could do, and it didn't work. I didn't come up with this thread on my search, so I guess -1 on the first fix?

I had it happen again yesterday and switching to a new face didn’t help. Had to restart the watch again. Not that big of a problem unless it starts happening more frequently. But it is strange that Apple can’t fix it.

'Won't' fix it? Not yet anyway. It might not be happening to 'enough people' yet. *shrug* No problems with my AW, so far...
