Hello all,
I tried searching here and other sites to no avail so I'm hoping someone will have the answer.

I recently was given an Apple watch as a gift, but I have a jailbroken iPhone 6 plus running 8.1.2. Is there any way to get the apple watch app loaded without upgrading? I saw someone attempted this but needed beta testers and can find no other information on it.

If not, is there any other version of iOS that I can upgrade to and still jailbreak? I know 9.3 is forthcoming, but I don't want to try upgrading to another version of the software to find that Apple is no longer signing and then be stuck.

Any help is appreciated.

No, there is no way to do it. You have to wait until 9.3 is jailbroaken...

I successfully side loaded the watch app to a jailbroken 6 on iOS 9 that I had previously removed the app from. I'm not entirely sure you're out of luck, as the watch app is just that, an app. I had another 6 with the app, I went in with ifile, converted the app to a zip, emailed to myself and got it working fine. I haven't had a chance to read up ( I'm going to now ) but I don't know what the other requirements are that iOS 9 brought to the table. I only know that I successfully reinstalled the watch app on a device that did not have it. And it works. It was a fun project, and may be worth a shot. After I do more research I'll edit this post.

Edit: if you choose to try this..... The watch app is actually named Bridge in the file system.

Edit: I still have the watch app in a zip if you want to give it a shot. PM me

Edit: The more I read the more I feel like it could work. All you can do is try. You would need to unzip the file using ifile into documents, then copy into the app location as seen in the picture. Then reboot. I had to reboot twice and then it showed up. Again, I'm not sure if this will work for you. But it can't hurt.

You can't use the watch with iOS 8, and you can't update to a version of iOS that can be jailbroken, so you'll need to decide what's important to you.

Apple Watch wasn't built for iOS 8. This is like asking you want iPhone 8 to work on iOS 9.
