Hi guys, searched, but I couldn't find a thread dedicated to bugs in the Watch OS.

So, has anyone here been experiencing any minor or major bugs in the software?
I will post any I find below:

- Occasionally the lights for the heart rate sensor won't come on during a workout..therefore once completed it can't provide an average heart rate as it can't measure it.

- The motion watch face with the jellyfish animation sometimes only shows the time.

Great thread. We need it to be a wiki!

Bugs I have seen

- Syncing music doesn't work
- Connecting bluetooth headphones don't work
- Contact photos not showing in the side button.

Sometimes "Hey Siri" will get stuck in a blurry background with no foreground.

force touch on watch face doesn't always go to the customize screen.

I had Siri stop working completely while I was using it (and doing a demonstration to my family!). When I tried any sort of dictation, it didn't work and the only option for text messages was to send the audio. I had to restart the watch to get her working again.

Great idea. This should be a sticky Wiki.

  • Weather sometimes mulitplies cities. There will be like 20 tiny dots at the bottom of my weather app, and it's the 5 cities on my iPhone duplicated four times.
  • Stuttery motion when exiting apps and going back to the clock app.
  • Friends contact ring doesn't import photos. You have to go into the AW app on your iPhone and delete and re-add them.

Oh yeah I forgot about the weather dot bug. I saw that too. Actually I have seen everything on your list.

I had to reboot the watch tonight because Siri stopped working; "Hey Siri" did nothing and holding the crown just showed a blurred face watch.

On a related note, when I launch the Apple Watch app on the iPhone, the app will stay black for up to 20 seconds before the user interface actually appears.

When you tap on one of the apps listed at the bottom of the My Watch tab, then click "Off" on "Show App on Apple Watch," it says "Uninstalling..." in grey below it. When you go back to the previous page, then go back to the app, the setting is back to "On." You need to stay on the app and wait for "Uninstalling..." to disappear before the app actually disappears from the WATCH.

The screen will also sometimes turn off much too quickly in some cases. Like I will tap it to activate it and it will turn off 1 second later. Once I had it sort of flicker on and off repeatedly as I was trying to use it.

I looked at my Yelp app on the Watch and it showed half an icon. I thought that was odd so I looked at the AW app on my iPhone, and it had switched the Yelp app to "off" on its own. I turned it back on and then it was fine.

force touch on watch face doesn't always go to the customize screen.

I've noticed that the touch sensitivity, especially with force touch, is a lot less responsive on my watch than it is on the demos in the Apple store.

Taptic feedback is really unreliable. Sometimes the vibration is ok, other times it's barely vibrating so I miss it just to discover the red dot on top of the screen.
Taptic adjusted to max.

Siri sometimes is stuck on a blurry screen.
In activity app, pressing start will do nothing, the button icon will bounce in place but will do nothing. Have to try it 3-4 times before it decides to work.

Scrolling with digital crown is sometimes not fluid. Other time yes.

Accessing the settings icon, I encounter a delay before the names of the settings appear on the screen

Jellyfish animation is sometimes too slow to appear, watch screen will turn off before animation starts.

Hey Siri works and sometimes don't.

Raising the wrist will turn on screen, but not always. Sometimes nothing will happen I have to touch the screen or press the crown to turn on screen.

Can't wait for 1.0.1

The watch really does know when you are raising your arm in a normal position. I was trying to show someone else how the raise to lift works while bent over so he could see it and it wouldn't work until I stood up normally.

I have found that trying to remove an app will take forever (if at all) for it to finish installing. I've found that when this happens, if I go to my watch, touch the app in question to try and start it, it will start, then quit, then be removed.

Curious as to when all your watches were manufactured and if it links to the problems your having?

My watch works almost perfect in every way with the exception that Siri gets a word wrong here and there.

My watch is a 38mm Steel manufactured week 14 April.

I'm no longer get iMessages to my watch. I just get the message "iCloud password failed". I've restarted, reset, unpaired, restored the watch. I've also done the same for my phone. I even changed my Apple ID password nothing seems to work, it is very frustrating.

Yes, every two days something seems to accumulate in the watch to cause this to happen. I have to reboot the watch to fix it. Week 16 production, launch day delivery. I forgot to add that my first few days with the watch this did not happen. It's like we turned some corner and something changed.

I once lost the pictures to my contacts as well as the ability to use them and had to unpair, re-pair and throw in a reboot just for good measure to get them back.

Siri has frozen a couple of times when I've tried to send a completed dictated text and I've had to exit and start over. I use Siri a lot so the failure rate is actually super low.

Now that I reboot in the mornings as a matter of habit I can't say I've noticed any bugs but it's been only a couple of days.

The "cancel navigation" siri command doesn't seem to work through the watch, even if you initiated directions through there. She insists you are not navigating, even as you get tapped to turn.

My Bugs:

• Favorites pics sometimes load sometimes don't
• Weather app often takes minutes to load
• Other apps can't access heart rate data in healthkit
• Apps often get stuck "updating." Only fix is to uninstall and reinstall

Bug Receiving Calls

There are times I am in bluetooth range to my iPhone, it's connected to the watch and is locked yet I can't answer the call on my watch (pressing the green answer button has no effect). I have to pick up on the phone. Sometimes I am able to answer the call on the watch. The last time it didn't work the first two times pressing the green answer button and the third press answered the call on the watch.

Wondering if it is some kind of "lag" in the bluetooth connection. Maybe the other times I gave up too soon trying not to lose the call all together. Anyone else have this issue at all?

does the bug come back if you stop rebooting?

It did repeat itself, yes, before I started rebooting regularly. I'll do an experiment starting tomorrow morning. I'll reboot and note the time. Then just leave it and log the time I notice the notifications failing to make a haptic signal. Then repeat so I can make a consistent observation on how long it takes for the bug to recur. Right now I'm vaguely stating it takes about 2 days. Let me get a more precise reading on the interval.
