Man, what an ugly logo. It might just be me, but I wouldn't use a grayscale image on a beautiful OLED display, including a jumbled and busy set of numbers.

Edit: as @MR-LIZARD pointed out, the goals' logos get colored upon completion. And they're actually rather beautiful.

Good! I love these special achievements. I was bummed there wasn't a Christmas one. That being said its going to be tough to close all of these. I have mine set on the highest calorie setting.

You're telling me Apple cares about achievements and promotes them in Apple Watch, but would prefer (and pretend) they don't exist in iOS games? You don't say...

I kinda get what Rocco83 says about losing stuff when upgrading phones.

Having just upgraded to 7Plus, (and yes, iTunes backups encrypted), I am now getting the weirdest stuff in my activity app: Like TWO Turkey Day badges, for 2 different days! (Wutt?) I also have 2 days on which I got the move streak twice. This is all very weird and Apple Geniuses were simply stunned.

My best guess is that the database behind this got screwy and somehow it tries to sort itself out ...

That's what mine is too. I'm outside of the US and never got the thanksgiving one on the 24th, but just recently I noticed I got one for the 21st. Strange.

I know it's a simple\minor thing but I really like the idea of special achievements like these. Here's to more

I have the same issue with the Thanksgiving 5K on my iPhone 6s Plus. Probably occurred around the time I updated to 10.2 but can't be sure.

Please share with us any data proving that this "extra-motivation" makes any difference.

Before I had my watch, I worked five days a week, now I workout a min of 30 minutes everyday. Do you see how many people are complaining they didn't get the turkey, it very motivating. I walked 6 miles on Thanksgiving which I wouldn't have done if it wasn't for the sticker...

Meh....As usual no badge notification. I'll probably get it until the end of the challenge. Same thing happen to me with the Thanksgiving one.

Your personal experience is not a very compelling data that I was expecting. Plus, working out every day is not beneficial, since your body needs to rest to recover. You were already working out 5x/week which is wonderful and actually substantiate the motivation behind my post. People who are already working out will continue to work out regardless of the watch. Those who don't work out, may start working out for a brief period of time because of the watch but will eventually resume their sedentary lifestyle.

The key is doing different types of workouts. You don't want to do weight lifting everyone day unless you are a body builder. And since Apple doesn't store or report on fitness data it would be hard to create statics.

Did you set it as a workout when you did the walk on Thanksgiving or did you just walk 6 miles? Workout is the key.

This sounded like a good idea but was poorly executed. Like everything else on Apple watch

Ding! Just came in on my watch. Will be done second week of the year I guess. Would be fun with some more harder goals. Like giving us maybe a month to do 100 km running or get over 10k kcal for a week..

You don't lose anything if you use either iCloud or encrypted iTunes backups.
The problem is that every so often, its good to restore not from backup, but do a clean install. Most things are stored in the cloud nowadays and without doing this, you get some funky settings and such in your phone after a few phones/years.

So when I got m 7 Plus, I did not restore from back up. I sorta thought the Apple Watch Backup would be separate or the activity would be saved in iCloud directly (like contacts or notes) but that was not the case. I had to start all over again, which was disappointing.

Apple should sync this stuff to the cloud directly.

I like this. More of this, Apple! I'd love to see the fitness side of the Apple Watch become really proactive. If it notices you've had a bad few days then maybe suggest the wearer go for a walk or a jog. I just say because when I had a spot of depression earlier this year my partner urging me to go running was a huge help.
