Apple Watch Poll: Stainless vs Aluminium?

Hi all, Thanks all your responses. I’m still managing to function with my Apple Watch S4 - gold stainless steel and was thinking it was probably time to upgrade. I had a similar experience to another person, who purchased the Aluminium and promptly returned it for the Stainless. I honestly was hoping apple would do a redesign by now but I feel I could be in the “should I wait for the redesign camp.” However, the Ultra appeals, for something different, which isn’t much more than the stainless steel version.

My worry with the Aluminium is scratching the glass or denting the case…
The ion x on the alum def scratches very easily but I wouldn’t worry about denting the body. Left is S5 alum, right S4 alum. They take a beating at work.

Edit: sorry the S4 pic sucks but I was doin hand Olympics w iPad mini😂

My S5 is 3 years old and I’ve not managed to scratch it yet. Obviously if I shine a bright light on it and look carefully I am sure there are microscopic micro scratches, but that doesn’t really count lol. My job is 98% office based though so it doesn’t get a lot of danger. I think you do have to drag the face across hard surfaces though and it doesn’t scratch during reasonable daily wear.

Honestly, love the look of the micro scratches, but for big ones you can use a Cape Cod cloth. Back in the day (series 6 I think) I had a deeper scratch. I sanded it out and polished back to normal with the cape cod. I buy them from Amazon.
Having never had a stainless Apple Watch before, I’m looking to try this with my Series 7 when required. Anyone worry that what is in the cloths could damage seals/adhesive or anything? I’d like to try them on an iPhone XS too, but have the same concern.
