I tell Apple Watch to remind me to deposit checks in one hour. Siri confirms reminder is made. I check reminders app and I do not see the reminder in any of my lists.

One hour later a reminder notification occurs on Apple Watch. No reminder on iPhone. I check Reminders again, no reminder related to this event.

How is this happening? If all reminders are located in the iPhone app and the watch just creates, and notifies, how can there be a reminders database that I cannot see.

It has been doing this for the past 18 hours. Reminder creation on AW is one of my favorite things. How can this be broken like this. I've restarted both AW and iPhone, uninstalled Fantastical 2 on AW. No luck.

Any ideas or suggestions?

It should be in reminder app of iPhone. Check it is in "Scheduled" folder. I use it all the time, and combined with Reminder Nano app, you could actually see new reminder show up right away in Reminder Nano AW app and in glance if Reminder Nano AW glance is turn on.
If not in there, you have communicate issue between AW & iPhone, or issue in iPhone reminder app.

Yeah, it's not under scheduled either. It's nowhere, isn't that odd?

I don't know what to do. I guess I could unpair and repair it. Total hassle though.

Any suggestions?

Take into an Apple Retail store for technical assistance. It should show up in your reminders on your phone. The only issue I ever have is that it will sometimes notify my phone instead of my watch even when I'm not using my phone.

It is my understanding that reminders/alarms set on your watch are only on your watch, but if you set them on your iPhone they will be shared to the watch.
There is no app called Reminders on the Apple Watch. It prompts you to launch it or find it on the iPhone. All reminders no matter where you create them are stored on the phone. If you are wearing the watch and it is unlocked, then the reminder will pop up on your watch unless you are currently using the phone at the time of the reminder.

I'm not talking about an app. If you tell your watch "hey Siri, remind me...." it will be only on your watch. If you do the same thing on your phone, it will be both on your phone and your watch. Just like in the afternoon when I take my nap and I ask Siri to wake me in 90 minutes. I make sure I'm talking to the phone and not the watch.

That is the way it works, even though it's a poor design.

There is no Reminders app on the :apple:Watch so Reminders can't be viewed on the :apple:Watch. The Reminders app is on your iPhone. Whenever you make a reminder on your :apple:Watch it puts it in the default Reminders List on your iPhone unless you specify a different List.

Just try it. Say "Siri remind me at 4:30 to take out the trash" There is no way to see or edit this on the :apple:Watch. You must look on your iPhone in Reminders to see/edit it.

Reminder notification will show up on iPhone only if phone display is active at time of reminder.
Apple design AW watch as accessories to iPhone. So you display is active on iPhone, it will assume you are looking at it.
I think it should have some way of knowing AW is actives, if within the Bluetooth/Wifi range, so user could select all or select type of notifications always go to AW, like reminder notification, or smoke detector active notification.

That is the point I was trying to make is that when Im on my phone the reminder still shows up on my phone regardless of setting the reminder on my phone or my watch. -_-

BTW do you have a reminders category in your Apple Watch app on the iPhone? I have no reminder settings in the Apple Watch app on iPhone.

No Reminders app on the Watch, but if you go into Notifications in the iPhone Watch app, you'll see a setting for Reminders with Mirror/Custom options, and alert options.

There is no Reminders App on the :apple:Watch. There are NO reminders located on the :apple:Watch. The :apple:Watch's Siri is just a portal to the iPhones Reminders App.

Believe me, I know there is no native Remiders app on Apple Watch.

So, I'll check my notifications area in the Apple Watch app.

My watch, does have reminders independent of the iPhone...that is my problem.

It is creating reminders that live only on the Apple Watch and do not live on iPhone or iCloud.com...it's nuts.

BTW, the only reason I know they live on the AW independent of the iPhone is that I can see them exclusively on the AW via Fantastical AW app. Totally buggy.

Well, if you use Siri to add a reminder, it adds to the reminder on your phone. Unless the phone and watch are not connected.

But, when you add a reminder it goes to the reminder app on your phone and fantastical 2 reads that info and adds to its reminder section which I love!

If your watch and phone are not connected the watch will still remind you and will add to reminders app on your phone the next time they are connected. So, it wouldn't surprise me if fantastical can read it when the phone and watch are disconnected. The watch has the reminder cached.

So your telling me that my phone and watch are not communicating reminders even though the watch and phone are right next to each other and paired and communicating perfectly in every other way?

I tell my watch "remind me to buy bleach"

The watch says ok, I've done it and shows a reminders card. The iPhone app shows nothing.

I say remind me to buy bleach at 2 pm. The the watch days it's done. The iPhone app shows no reminder. The fantastical watch app shows the reminder.

Do you understand what I am saying? Apparently it's a really nasty bug.

I just tried this. Told Siri on the watch to a reminder and a second later it showed up on the iPhone no problem. So if there is a bug there is some specific combination for this. Mine does't show this problem. Watch is watchOS 2.0, iPhone is iOS 9.0.2.

I hear you, and thanks for trying. I am on 6s and 42mm SS both running the latest OS's.

However I found others on the Apple forums with the same problem as me. It was working fine on Thursday. Then on Friday this started to happen. I kinda feel like it coincided with Fantastical 2's native watch app release. But uninstalling and reinstalling have done nothing to help.

I use reminder creation so often via Apple Watch, that's why it's so frustrating for me.

I don't use Fantastical. Could definitely be an issue there. I'd try unpairing and setting it up as new. If the problem is still there you can also unpair and restore from backup.

I may do that. I did confirm with the other users on Apple forums that they tried unpairing, etc. two users confirmed it did not help. So I'll wait to see if a patch is released. Per apple online help it is now a known issue.
