i recently received an Apple Watch series 3 as a Christmas gift, but I currently have a jailbroken iPhone 6s Plus. It is on iOS 9, is there a work around to have it synced with each other?

No. Your Apple Watch Series 3 has to be in tandem with watchOS 4 and iOS 11.

You'll have to upgrade the phone or buy another phone and keep the 6S+ jailbroken.

I use my watch with a 7+ and have a few iPhones jailbroken. I refuse to give up the JB, my 6S is on 10.1.1 and jailbroken so I just simply bought a new phone.

Thanks for the reply guys, but it looks like I'm going to return it. I do not want to update my 6s+, so will wait till next round of iPhone release to consider getting an Apple Watch. I'm content with my 4 yr old Original Pebble steel

I thought jailbreaking was basically dead (as in lack of interest). Just curious, what features do get from JB these days? I couldn’t imagine being happy with ios 10. Heck the 5ghz favoring was a huge benefit for me if nothing else.

The community supporting it has largely disappeared for a number of reasons. The best in the scene have been hired by Apple or some other large developer. Jail breaks are few and far between now. Further, many have just lost interest.

-Customizing my screen however I want as well as my folders.
-F R E E Spotify
-Creating ringtones easily, any song and any part of the song
-tweak called Activator
And some other bunch of minor but helpful stuffs in cydia

I'm in the same dilemma got a series 3 for Christmas my iPhone 6s Plus isn't JB I'm on 10.3.3 but I've heard nothing but horror stories updating to iOS 11.2. I have a AW 0 I'm using on 10.3.3 I guess I will continue using that AW.

If you are reading horror stories on an Internet forum you are getting a distorted reality I think.

I know probably 40 people with iOS 11 and they have no issues.

Besides, what’s the end game? You will eventually have no choice if you want to stay with Apple.

Perhaps you would like a platform that doesn’t have updates to speak of like android?

I can easily do it with my computer. Free (except audio software that is not free). Fully customizable. Used a couple as my custom ringtone for over 2 years now. I don’t bother doing it on iPhone. PC software just does this much better and much easier.

This is down to personal preference. I used to love such customization. But now, I am against it. Having those folders in a fixed location saves me time and effort to find “where it is”. It is the same everyday, meaning I have the same workflow to get my job done everyday.

So, I am happy to use my AW 3 with iOS 11.

Regarding Spotify, I have my own collection anyway.

To sum it up, we both have own preference and happy about the choice. :)

First two reasonings are pretty justified I guess.
But Spotify tweak on JB iPhone (and w/ unlimited data plan) is something I can't give up yet.
I tried going a day on safe mode, it was not happening. Having a billion songs at your control any time and any how you want without any ads or restrictions is My cup of tea.
Also the hassle of transferring songs to/from iPhone if one does not want to deal with iTunes/Apple Music to me feels like the Jurassic era.

I understand how important FREE Spotify is, and I second to your liking. I would just pay Spotify if I am so inclined to their music library. Since I have my own library and need to use iTunes anyway, creating tones on the computer is easier for me overall.
In short, personal preference. :)
