Apple Watch S6 iMessage sync issues

Hi all

Just purchased a new iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 6 and am having issues with iMessage syncing to the Apple Watch.

Both the iPhone and Watch are updated to latest OS.

All threads load just fine on the iPhone however the Apple Watch loads a couple threads with large gaps between messages (messages a few years apart). Also, the names of contacts are not showing in iMessage only the phone number.

I have unpaired (and erased) Apple Watch and erased the iPhone several times (starting from new) however the problem still persists.

Is there anything else I can try?

Make sure you also go into settings on the watch app and reset sync data. That’s what worked for me

Thanks I’ll give it a try.
I did try it before and nothing seemed to happen
I’ve finished erasing/setting up my iPhone (all iMessages just synced) and thinking I might wait until tomorrow as it might be a sync issue
