Hi I now have a series 7 watch but the brightness appears very dull any thoughts please desperate

I would suggest you compare it to another one - it’s very subjective and if you have the brightness on max then no one here can help.

You have given no information on what you have done… restarted? Re-paired?

The screen brightness of my 7 varies a fair amount depending on lighting conditions.

There are times it seems unexpectedly bright and other times unexpectedly faint, although either the Watch or my vision adjusts pretty quickly.

Also, it could be that you are used to an iPhone whose screen is set at a high brightness so that, in contrast, the Watch looks dimmer.

Thank you my friend for your info
Have done a comparison with another watch & same situation, ??
Did try using a bright torch light directly on to screen and yes it came up Bright !!! But it did not last long . Do hope Apple may have a fix later soon.

Apple needs to trust us and allow us to turn off the ambient light sensor. The screen on my series 7 is too dim in a darkened environment, for me anyway.

Good points! I'll confess that I don't use my watch in the dark. But in the early evening (or late afternoon in winter) without the table lamp besides me on, but perhaps a light elsewhere, I’ve never wondered about the Watch being dim.

I’ll have to try it and see…
