Hello there! I was wondering whether I should buy the Apple Watch SE straightaway (I mean, it is not a high priority need, but I'd like to enjoy the complement of an Apple Watch) or wait until a new version comes out. It's nearly a year old, I guess it won't be having an update for another year, but I prefer to listen to your wisdom rather than imagining the possible outcomes myself :). For your information, I'm just focusing on the notifications, exercise, and sleep tracking areas of the Apple Watch. No fancy things such as super-powerful apps that drain battery life or super-advanced health statistics as the ones offered by Series 6.

I would hold off to see what is offered in September. If we get new SE the price will drop on the current model. I would buy SE today if the screen would stay on but it is just like my series 4 except for the processor. If no update I am sure they will clearance price the series 6

I suspect the SE will be an 18 month to 24 month cycle. Just a guess though. But if that's the case I would expect that when the 7 comes out the 6 will have a slight drop, but the SE will not.

So I'd say if you can find one then on sale it might be worth a shot. I don't know that I'd pay full retail today though, I think I'd wait for the 7 and see what that looks like.
