Still rocking the Series 0.…nearly useless at this point but none of these updates have been calling me to spend $700 on a new one. I almost pulled the trigger on the series 4 but didn’t and since then every update has been so small.
Any idea why I cannot do monthly payments on my Apple Card for the Nike S7?
Not a dealbreaker but bizarre.
Thanks, I’ll try the website, on my phone when I tap that option an pop-up opens to say that the Nike S7 isn’t eligible for monthly installments, after the pop-up the option goes gray.
The current S3, SE and S7 lineup is such an obvious, desperate attempt to make the consumer forget how close S5 and S6 are to S7.Really? Comparing this with series 3 ?
- 50 percent louder speaker than Series 3
You need to pay for AC in full in order to use the Apple payment. In other words, remove "monthly" and add "pay in full". I ran into similar issues and this is what I found to 'cure' the problem. You're correct, use their money for free.Oops… I didn’t read it fully, it’s for Apple Care.
I’ve never had Apple cars or insurance on my past watches but I was thinking I would try it monthly for the first few months.
Your loss Apple.
It's nice to be able to see. For people that find some of this functionality, they can simply get the SE, that is the reason for Apple to have it.Does anyone find the blood oxygen levels or ecg monitoring useful or helpful in any way?
That is the thing, don't buy the stainless steel, or ceramic, It's not jewelry, it's a tech item that will become obsolete quickly as technology changes....which is almost everyday. and if the functionality of the sensors are of not use/interest to you, that is why there is the SE.After my Series 4 stainless steel dies, it will be an SE or a refurb. I won't pay full price any longer for Apple Watches that don't hold their value and are impossible to repair.
My wife's $699 Series 4 stainless steel fell this week and cracked the glass on her screen (OLED display is intact) and the repair by Apple is $399, outrageous. She is no longer covered by AppleCare+ as it is over 2 years.
If I trade in my $749 Series 4 stainless steel, Apple would give me $100.
So going forward, I'll buy whatever is cheapest. IMO all the sensors are massive gimmicks. The SE has everything you truly need.
I agree as far as the whole "round" thing, it's a waste of display area. IHO the Apple watch is not about just having a watch, for that you can go to an actual watch,Don’t think we’ll see a round watch as that limits content, but I agree on health. Also on a 4, wanted to go 7 this year but leaning to pass.
The battery situation is also suboptimal. It would be ideal if the battery life went up to 48 hours. Then a 15-20 minute quick charge should be able to get you to 18 hours of charge. Having to charge over an hour to get 18 hours of use makes it a no go for sleep tracking.
I have an aluminium S4, about two years old. It shows no signs of scratches, though I have put a clear plastic case on it about 4 months ago, which will help protect it (both body and screen). Unless you were to deeply gouge the surface, I don't think you'd notice a small scratch/ding, since the finish is more matte/satin than gloss. I can't speak for the Apple Watch specifically, but in my experience stainless steel does tend to show small scratches over time, partly because it's a high gloss surface. Caveat: I wear my watch for normal activities and have banged it against stone and other normal hard surfaces, but I don't do crazy things with it (eg I'd take it off when using an angle grinder)How is aluminium vs stainless steel when it comes to scratches from other hard surfaces?
I’ve had a few aluminium models (3,4,6) and all of the screens have been a scratch fest after 1 year. Quite disappointing really. How is aluminium vs stainless steel when it comes to scratches from other hard surfaces?
I think Apple Watch could be released every other year. The current S3, SE and S7 lineup is such an obvious, desperate attempt to make the consumer forget how close S5 and S6 are to S7.
But I’m sure S7 will, despite everything, sell just as well as the S5 and S6 did on launch.

I don’t know if the SS and it’s sapphire screen is so much better either. I don’t think the SS models are worth the extra though.
The bodies however have been scratch free .. just the screens.
As a hypochondriac, yes I doDoes anyone find the blood oxygen levels or ecg monitoring useful or helpful in any way?
Yeah the “repair” costs on Apple watches are crazy. Since the Series 3 is $199 new, the SE $279 (I’m assuming no cellular or stainless steel on her Series 4), and they cannot repair them so they swap them out, you’re essentially just buying a new Series 4 and your “repair” should fall somewhere in between, no?My wife's $699 Series 4 stainless steel fell this week and cracked the glass on her screen (OLED display is intact) and the repair by Apple is $399, outrageous. I read the question as a serious question to forum members. You seemed to take it as a rhetorical one. Correct me if I’m wrong. No, nobody does.Do you also wonder about the useful or helpful attributes of seatbelts in cars?
Gimmicks!
seriously though - of course these cool functions have helped people. Find someone with heart problems and see if they think it is helpful to have an ECG or O2 saturation testing so easily
I really wish the watch would work with the iPad - I’d take the chance to try ditching the phone.I gave up the Apple Watch and the iPad recently and went with just an iPhone mini… I couldn’t be happier…one device to charge and it does all I need. Keep it simple. Don’t have your nightstand end up looking like a giant charging station
AppleCare+ never seemed like a good business proposition to me. For a $799 Stainless Steel Series 7, AppleCare+ is $79. Add $69 for an accidnetal damage replacement = $148 plus tax. That's an 18% premium that you could just save and use to fund your next upgrade. AppleCare+ does add 12 months to the manufacturer warranty, but many credit cards double or triple warranties (my Chase Sapphire triples it to 3 years), so that is of no use to me. I suppose each individual knows how accident prone they are, so maybe it makes sense for some.I agree with you on resale value, not very good. I extended the AC+ on my S4 after 2 years and 4 or so months ago my speaker dies and I got a refurb, new body/glass/battery. Whatever next AW I'll be getting, AC+ is a must, for me, and I am sure that if I were to get an alu model, I'd crack the screen within < 1 year

I’m not sure what they meant but the firsthand opinion of those that sprung for the extra bells and whistles is more valuable to me than the obvious and sometimes hypothetical use cases.
I do. Probably a number of other people.Does anyone find the blood oxygen levels or ecg monitoring useful or helpful in any way?
