I got the original Apple Watch the day it came out. 42mm Series 0. The last month or so it seems I can't make it a full day with the battery life. Very frustrating and even cut down on the notifications I have coming to it. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Just a sign of wear after 2 years and a few months?

It could be your Watch is in need of a battery replacement and/or if you have any third-party applications that might be contributing to the battery drain, could be of issue.

Also, make sure you are up to date on your WatchOS and if you are running a beta, this is coukd also be a factor.

Apple can conduct a battery test of your Apple Watch and determine if the battery is healthy or not. You can go to an Apple Store or it can be completed over the phone to conduct the test. (It's free also.)

Exactly the same issue here, but only since running PB1 on my 7 Plus. I used to put my Watch (Series 0) on charge at night, and it would still have between 40-50% remaining battery, but something about iOS 11 is causing the Watch to drain more during the day and now it's on about 25% when I plug it in. My Watch isn't running a beta OS, so it's something to do with iOS 11. Maybe it's communicating with the Watch more, or demanding more from the Watch. I dunno.

You reminded me about the issue and so I've now submitted feedback to Apple. As I'm sure others have too.

Also, are you running the iOS 11 beta? That could do it, too.

Seems to be a common issue with the latest iOS 11 beta.

Same here - I've had the 38MM since day one and I didn't notice any issues with my battery (always require a mid day charge up) until I went to the PB for iOS 11 and the beta 2 for watch OS 4 has been horrific - completely messed up my activity rings because it will not stay charged. I'm hoping the new beta will fix this issue....and I'm holding out for a new Watch3 in the fall. Apparently the battery life on the newer series is quite good (my mom has a series 2 and she can go for days without a charge).....

Cheers,
Bobbie

I guess I should have clarified in my original post, I know better.

Running the latest software on both iPhone and Watch. No betas on either.

Appreciate all the comments, perhaps I'll take it into apple and have them take a look at the battery. Any idea the cost of a new battery?

My original Apple Watch 38mm also suffers from (unusual fast) battery drain lately. I recognized a periodical drop in battery life every now and then that I assume is from battery life cycle self management. It came back to normal every time and I hope this will be the same this time. My Watch is 26 month old now and I wear it 17h every day. I use the latest stock iOS/wOS.
