Hi,

Anyone have a series 0 ? How’s the speed lately ? With every update it seems to get slower and slower. Now, when I want to start an activity, it takes 1-2 minutes to load the app and being able to start it...

I have a Series 0 and I'm content with it. Yeah, I've heard glowing reviews of how much faster the 3 is and my 0 certainly takes a long time to start an activity. Yet, with that said, I'm unwilling to spend 329 dollars on a series 3, when I spend around that just a three years ago. I'm normally not that cheap, but given that the watch still does everything I want it too, I struggle at seeing the benefit

Yeah, the only think I hate about series 0 is the time to start an activity AND voice dictating. Sometimes it takes so long to write what I said I think it didn’t understood me so I say it again and then my words are all doubled...

My series 0 works fine but is slow to start things. The battery is really showing it's age which makes sense considering it's rated for 500 full recharge cycles or 1000 50% charge cycles or 3 years. It is a 42mm stainless model (held up great) but I'll go aluminum the next time. The $80 bucks for a battery replacement would be tolerable if not for the slow speed with each software update. Taking both together, I will likely get another one this year or try and hold out for a series 4.

BTW, my 18 hour life is closer to 10-12 hours today. I wish apple would do a cpu/battery change for $250 or something like that. I could keep my sapphire screen & steel case but have a series 3 inside.

For what it is worth...Just this week I upgraded from my original series 0 to a new series 3. To say it is a night and day experience would be understatement. I could barely make it through a day with the S0 because of battery and with the S3, I think I had >70% charge at the end of the day. This is also with an almost apples to apples compare as I simply restored the new S3 from an S0 backup, so all of my settings and apps were the same.

Also, apps are now usable. Too many times, trying to load an app on S0 (Nest or weather or anything) it would either simply not work or take forever. Now with the S3, apps are zippy and work as expected.

Simply stated, my S0 had become a "not-so-smart" watch and I now see the S3 as a living up to the original promise of true smart watch.

My battery has definitely degraded especially when going for a run and using the heart rate monitor, however since we are already in February I’m going to hold out and get the Series 4 in September, it will be interesting to see what features they add to it. Also what else do you guys think they could do to the Ceramic Edition this year? Add a new colour maybe?

I have a series 0 and it’s fine, but if I were looking today I’d probably be waiting for the Series 4.

That was me exactly. Workout used to load fast on the watch and became unusable these past months. I finally just gave in and purchased a GPS Series 3. It is phenomenal. I didn't wanna upgrade from my S0 but I did and I don't regret it. Now I use my vintage S0 for sleep and it's perfect. Just do it.

If you change your mind or want to spend less, Apple does have certified refurbished Series 3 available as of now. Currently, it looks like they only offer 38 mm at $279.00 in silver, space gray and Rose gold.

I’m not sure if they will expand another color with ceramic Edition or not. With the white and space gray already available, maybe they could add a silverish colored ceramic model. But I personally prefer the stainless model, for the added weight and I’m hoping they expand maybe something like a space gray (Lighter shade color under the space black.) if Apple offers the Series four in the fall, I will likely pick up two. I wish we had more rumors indicating what to expect with the Apple Watch, but that’s the one product that we don’t see a lot of rumors with.
