My Series 1 screen has started to come off, I noticed it a few weeks ago. I dont really want to buy a new watch right now as it wont be long until new ones. Would a fix until then be to use a little superglue or is that going to cause more problems. Photo is attached, it doesn’t show but I can start to see inside the watch now.

Same thing happened with my Series1 a few months ago.

I tried spending $10 on a double-sided sticky tape ring, but it was so thin I didn't do a good job getting it applied so that was a waste.

The best solution for me was superglue. The watch is years old at this point, and I'm just getting it to last a few months more at which point I'll get a new one and trash the Series 1.

I had the same problem with my Series 3 and superglue also did the trick for me. I'm unsure how that is as a long-term solution but it lasted me a few months until I was able to upgrade.

There's the question of what's causing the display separation. If the battery is expanding all the glue in the world won't help.
I agree, if the battery is expanding it will either pop open again or the Superglue will keep it in place and the expanding battery will crack the screen.

Still, if you are sure there is no resale value and don't mind the screen potentially cracking I say go for it before september and new watches come :) It may even last till then

Yeah that's from an expanding battery. Gluing it back down is just going to compress the battery which doesn't sound like a good idea. Apple had a repair program for this a long time ago but I doubt that's still honored.

If you feel comfortable compressing your new spicy pillow, I'd go with some glue, but that doesn't sound like a smart idea to me.

You could also buy a used SE or S4/5 for pretty cheap on eBay. They're like $100 now.

I guess this wont be covered by "fit for purpose" 6 years consumer law?

Is it safe to wear, is the battery likely to explode on my wrist?

Is it "likely" that it will explode? No, but it can happen, or it could go into thermal runaway leading to serious burns... This iFixit article explains the situation. https://www.ifixit.com/Wiki/What_to_do_with_a_swollen_battery

Overall, if you have an expanded battery it means it is nearly exhausted. It's not going to power the Watch for much longer, so either have the battery replaced or retire the Watch. Anything you do in the way of glue will likely make a battery replacement impossible or impractical.

I’m not sure if it is swollen. Might just be the glue/seal has degraded. The screen is coming off more like a lever. From one side and equal.

Yes, it might be that it has simply come unglued. If it's sufficiently unglued you can lift the display (taking care to not damage the ribbon cable) and can then look at the battery. If it appears to be perfectly flat/square on all sides then it's not likely expansion. Expansion makes the battery look more pillow-like.

It's clear you'd prefer that it not be battery expansion. Who wouldn't prefer that? But don't engage in wishful thinking, check things out. The consequences for ignoring a swollen battery can be serious.
