That’s what I’m wonderingIt sounds to me like the Series 10 batch of serial numbers isn’t in VZ’s database and it’s not recognizing the device

May have been the same problem I had with Xfinity. They didn't have the correct information for my new phone or watch including phone # and had to add the correct phone number to the phone and then the watch, but the watch still couldn't be paired. Xfinity told me to go back to Apple and get a new watch. Apple told me no watch would pair with the phone and that night after a long day at Xfinity and then Apple' I said to just give me a new watch without LTE. The next day I changed my mind and wanted cellular, so went to a different Apple Store (which had the watch I wanted) and the genius there was able to pair the watch after deleting call forwarding. I'm ok with that but shouldn't have had to do that in my opinion. My plan that day was to pair the new watch with the Mini instead, but the "genius" was determined to get the watch paired with the Pro and he did. That’s what I’m wondering
I had the same issue with Verizon and here is what ended up happening. You are supposed to remove the cell plan from the old watch when resetting. When adding the new one, it should ask you if you want to add a new plan or upgrade. When I got to that step, it never gave me the option to upgrade…just add new plan, which is not what I wanted. I called and got the same answer about adding a new line. I said no and hung up. I had to call three times before I finally got a rep who knew what was going on. The old watch is still attached to your phone number on numbershare even though you removed the cell plan when resetting. The new watch IMEI number is not in Verizon’s database unless you bought the watch from Verizon. Therefore, they have to add that IMEI number to their database, delete the old watch from your numbershare, and add the new one in its place. Once they do that, your new watch will replace your old one on your numbershare plan. It is very frustrating, but you have to get the right rep that knows what they are doing. Keep pushing them to add your IMEI to their database. It has nothing to do with being a Series 10, it is because many Verizon reps want to sell you a new plan as they make commissions from doing so.That’s what I’m wondering
Using a cellular Watch with it's own standalone plan/number is technically impossible by design.I had an Apple Watch Ultra on my Verizon plan with my iphone with no issues. I decided being a female I was tired of the chunky look of the Apple watch Ultra and switched to the new Apple Watch series 10 titanium.
For 2 days with the new series 10 I've been talking with Verizon tech trying to figure out why I cannot use numbershare to setup my new watch, and I was told today by Verizon that the only way to use cellular on this watch is to use it as a standalone device. Verizon tech said that this apple watch series 10 is made to be a standalone device and I cannot share it it with my iphone plan.
To use as a standalone device, I would have a separate number people would have to text or call on so my phone would not be connected to it. I said no I didn't want to do that. Now I'm wanting to send this watch back to apple. It's useless! Every watch I've had before this I shared with my iphone and if I wanted to go for a walk without my iphone, I could use my watch and not have to worry about if someone needed to get ahold of me using my regular phone number but work this new watch acting as only a standalone device, you cannot do that. You have to use a new number and no apps or anything will be connected with your phone. No thanks apple!!!
That's a Verizon issue, not Apple. Apple has changed nothing in this area. I use mine on AT&T and I have friends on T-Mobile, and it STILL works as it always has in years past.I had an Apple Watch Ultra on my Verizon plan with my iphone with no issues. I did that. I chose to unpair the old watch and it asked me did I want to keep or remove the cellular plan. I've tried that many times. Didn't work.one more try. Go to Watch.app > Settings > Cellular > Set up cellular.
I had no problem setting back up my old apple watch ultra as new and adding the cellular plan to it. It's just this watch series 10 for some reason. I've worked 3 days with Verizon. I give up.Sorry to be that guy but I bought my s10 Ti from Apple and had no problems adding it via the watch app to my VZ account as a second watch with VZ NumberShare.
