Body battery ala Garmin would be extremely useful. Otherwise no reason to move from my S6... sadly...

They are not patent trolls. They are IP owners properly exercising their rights as such. It is our beloved Apple who is to stingy to either pay a licensing fee or just buy the company to get the IP.
You do realize it is still being litigated right? If Apple truly believes the patent is invalid why settle even if it is a possibility?

Health app is on the iPad but not on Mac devices. Fitness app should be available on all Mac devices at this point!

Yes I agree but the discussion in this thread is regarding iPad (I don't even have one of these, preferring Macs) which is why I don't understand as the Health app is there.

If you use AppleCare in the US you will get a replacement without the blood oxygen functionality. I confirmed this with them when a family member ran into the issue trying to get service on a Series 7 Edition.

I agree it’s essential, I have a 4-5 year old watch I’m keeping due to this too.

FWIW, realtime BPM measurement works fine if you engage a HIIT workout specifically. I do this all the time at various points for various reasons. Helped me nail down an issue I was having, I just have to ignore all of the HIIT data which is admittedly a little annoying, but it’s totally workable for me.

Even on older watches you can run those workouts for many, many hours if you have a condition you’re trying to track. It’s not a perfect solution, but something.
I turned in my S6 at my local Apple store to have the battery serviced under AppleCare+(with functional SPo2) and received a refurbished S6 with SPo2 enabled. I asked the specialist before I authorized the work if I would receive a watch with SPo2 and he assured me that as long as the watch was repaired/replaced under warranty you would receive a watch with SPo2 enabled.. If it was a customer paid repair, you will receive a watch with SPo2 disabled..

Roughly when was this? That would be great, I know someone that needs a battery service and didn’t do it specifically due to this. Maybe the Apple folks they and I spoke to were being obstinate or were uninformed. It honestly surprised me when I found that out.

Fitness app isn't on the iPad either. Why Apple can't migrate these apps to all their devices is ridiculous!

What if we buy a non US watch with blood oxygen, will we run into problems using it with our US cellular carriers (Apple Watch cellular) or pairing it with a US iPhone?

Apple's balkanization of functions is a product management and marketing ploy to maximize the sale of devices across the portfolio.

Same old „stinky“ design? Not a single change, more edgy flat display like the ultra?
Can it least pair with my bicycle computer and share heart rate data? Well I guess, as always, it can not …

Might sell my series 8 and buy a refurbished Ultra 2.

Seems like the most logical upgrade right now considering price.

Expecting it to be a very minor update when compared to the Series 10. New chip, some new health related features enabled through software like the sleep score and probably some new colors. Everything else will most likely remain the same.

My AW6 died a couple of months ago so have been waiting to see what AW11 brings. If it doesn’t come with something significant over the AW10 I may just go for that.

I'm going to buy one to replace my broken Series 6 (swollen battery that made the screen come loose).

If there’s no significant features, I wish Apple could make the experience better.

It’s crazy you still need an iPhone to use an AW. Open it up to a larger audience.

Why can’t we have see our Fitness metrics on a larger display such as an iPad or Mac desktop?

Give us precision one button start for running.
Not gonna happen. The iPhone is Apple's cash cow. The Apple Watch was created in order to drive more iPhone sales. At this point it might be nice little money earner, but its main purpose is to lock you into the iPhone / Apple ecosystem. And this strategy is working beautifully for them, so...

as soon as the blood oxygen comes back, I'll upgrade from my 6. C'mon Apple/Masimo/whoever
I couldn’t agree more. My oxygen level tells me a lot about the condition of my heart. I purchased a smart ring to fill in the Series 10 gap and now it will be a long, long time before I upgrade my watch and when I do it will need to have Sp02 monitoring.
