Stainless steel should cost $50 more than aluminum. And that is generous. The current price gouging is unbelievable. I just don’t think it’s right. This price drop demonstrates that the price of the stainless steel case is astronomically jacked up by Apple.

Hmm.

I just cracked the screen on my series 2...
I have one for sale.

Well technically there is no MSRP because they aren't current models. I suppose they could have listed the original MSRP for reference. Or perhaps the current MSRP for the S1 and S3 to compare.

MR never cites MSRP in these sale articles and they are always confusing for that reason.

SS is more difficult to manufacture. Tiffany stopped production of a SS line (streamerica) a few decade ago because it was just too hard to make.

I have a SS 42mm 0, and it's great. When my original one died I considered an aluminum one to replace it, but got a used SS one because it's really just nicer.

Looks like the extra discount is over. The prices increased $30. I was seriously considering grabbing one today
